Summary: the peoples autobiography
Review: This has got to be the most electrifying book i have read in ages , i am a huge rock fan but wasn't sure about buying it but i did and i am so glad i did this is a great insite into the wwf and everything that goes on behind the scenes it also describes most of his matches and it also gives us an insite into the life of one of the most entertaining men i know.He then describes his days in college as an american footballer and how it was short lived because of his injury so he decided to follow in the family tradition and that is to become a wwf superstar this then describes his bad days as rocky maivia head of the nation of domination and how everyone hated him and his good days as the peoples champ and six time wwf champion the rock i definently recomend this book to everyone who is a wwf fan the pictures are great and there are alot of funny parts. This book is a dedication to his mother the reason for this will be explained when you read the book as people would say he is a very humble person who puts his body on the line most nights to entertain us his charity work is amazing and i hope he does another book like Mick Foley i hope this is helpfull to you and i hope Dwayne gets to read this some time because he truly is the peoples champion

Review: rock has a very funny and suprisning life and it was time to write about it. when i was going on my plane trip to las vegas i stopped at the book store and picked this book up. it tells about how he became dwayne johnson to the rock. it has nice photos and stuff. BUY THIS BOOK TODAY!

Review: I thought this was an autobiography. This book is ghostwritten.And why did The Rock "write" a book when he was only 27 and has only been a pro wrestler for three years upon the writing of this book? This was just a cash-in for the WWF and The Rock. They saw the success of Mick Foley's book and figured that if their most (or second most) popular wrestler had a book, it would sell, too. Ditto for Chyna's book.

Summary: Overall an "Okay" Book
Review: Overall, this is an "okay" book which should appeal to fans of the Rock and fans of professional wresting. If you're a wrestling fan who's looking for some great "inside" scoops about the wrestling business or wrestling personalities, you're probably not gonna get what you are looking for. (For that I recommend Mick Foley's books or Gary Michael Cappetta's book). However, if you are a Rock fan who wants to know everything about your favorite wrestler, you've come to the right place. The book basically follows a chronological history of Dwayne Johnson's life detailing how he grew up in the wrestling business, his childhood, his adolescence, his "playa" styled lovelife (bad boy Rock), his college years, his career in the CFL, and his eventual rise in the wrestling business. You'll also get a nice look into his family life where he talks about his parents and how he met his wife and the problems he had with his in-laws at the outset. Once he hits the wrestling business he details how he trained and broke into the business and from there he basically chronicles his ENTIRE WWF career up to the present. If you've followed the business for the past several years there's nothing new in here that you didn't know already. However, he does give a nice insight into how his Wrestlemania 15 match with Steve Austin was booked though. Overall the book is "okay." My personal favorite parts of the book were not the wrestling related parts because most of that stuff "you" already know. My personal favorite part was where he recounted the horrors of being in the CFL. You'll be amazed at how a bonafide millionaire (today) actually started out with basically next to nothing (poorer than poor)!!! Here's my rundown: Great: The CFL horror stories, college stories and his "mack dad" stories with the ladies. Okay/So-so: The VERY COMPREHENSIVE recounting of his WWF career (which pretty much comes across as WWF/The Rock hype). Bad: Nothing really...It's just an "okay" book. Overall, it's a nice biography about his life and an overall interesting read, but nothing overly enthralling. Mildly Recommended

Review: The book I read was called The Rock Says... The author of this magnificent book is Joe Layden.In this book it talks about the life of DeWayne Johnson,a man that puts his life on the line 2 nights a week. It also talks about his life as the son of the famous Rocky Johnson. Also it talks about his football career as a Miami Gator. In this book DeWayne talks about his life as a teenager with his now,beautiful wife Dany. I would recommend this book for a fan of The Rock's or a sports fan,ages 12 and up.

Review: Dwayne Johnson, a.k.a. the Rock, is a pro wrestler who IS "the People's Champion." His trade mark, an arched eyebrow shows his entertaining menace. The Rock quick talks his way with a fashion like no other and comes up with catch phrases like a standup comic. This book starts out when the Rock is young and covers his early days in high school and college. This is where it tells about the Rock's family, which in itself is a history of the wrestling sport. His grandpa, High Chief Peter Maivia, was a Samoan wrestler important enough to be buried in Diamond Head's crater, and his dad, Rocky Johnson, was boxer and the first African American World Wrestling Federation Intercontinental champ. In this part of the book it talks about he Rock's football career, which is my favorite part. The Rock was on his way to being one of the best defensive tackles in the country, but ran into a series of injuries, which hastily ended his dreams of football fame. For a 27 year old, the Rock says some sincere and inspiring things. For one, he appreciates how others have helped him out. Also, he has a loving relationship with his lovely wife, Dani. It really impressed me that no matter where he is in the world, Dwayne Johnson always found the time during any day, to call his wife. To me that speaks a lot about true love. This book has it all: emotions, feelings, and some inspiring stories. The Chapters on Austin and Hart were well done. Overall, this is a good book that I enjoyed reading. The Rock is without a doubt the best guy in all of the Wrestling World and it shows as Rocky is getting offers to appear in movies and television. I for one, having seen the MUMMY RETURNS, liked the movie and anxiously await the prequel, THE SCORPEAN KING. Rock, you truly are the most electrifying man in sports entertainment and are "Among The Premiere Entertainers" in all the world.

Summary: Historical Fiction--WWF Style
Review: I couldn't even finish reading this book and even now I wonder why I picked it up in the first place. Coming off the actual autobiography of professional wrestler Mick Foley we get this next book in the "WWF series" about Dwayne Johnson, aka. The Rock. While I don't doubt there is some truth in here about The Rock's life, a large chunk of this book is nothing but WWF hype. I have a feeling in a few years another "Rock biography" will be released with whatever version of the story Vince McMahon feels like having told that day. To be fair the first half of the book isn't bad although there are historical mistakes, The Rock's father Rocky Johnson was never WWF Intercontinental Champion and I defy anyone to show me on a historical list where he was an I-C Champ. The book goes downhill in the second half when they seemingly get away from any biography and it turns from Dwayne Johnson whose occupation is a pro wrestler to pro wrestler The Rock. From this point on it becomes almost like one of his TV interviews done entirely in the third person...The Rock thinks this...The Rock says that etc. This is when I set the book down where it still sits today. People who are going to enjoy this are kids who watch pro wrestling and still buy into "the magic" of the events or for 40 yr olds who haven't realized yet that wrestling is all staged. For anyone else don't waste your time and take the money you were going to spend on this book and rent Ishtar.

Review: This is a great book. Everything was awesome. This book told about the Rock's childhood, his football career, and him in the WWF. I would totally recommend to buy this book. This book also tells about his first matches and how he learned. It tells about the famous manuever "Rock Bottom" and "People's Elbow" The only thing that I didn't like is that he wrote a lot on one thing and then skipped to much. In two chapters you cover 2-6 years. But otherwise, a great book. BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Review: The Book is about his life and his family in the Wrestling Business world how he was poor then he got really rich after a couple of years of Wrestling and when he got married when he slept on a soild bed for a month and when he broke his nose, arm and his knee and this book is really good if you are a wrestling fan and if you are not a wrestling fan then do not buy this book. This book also talks about his family in the business like his dad and great uncle and his best friend his wife who stuck with him all the way when he had his ups and downs and one more time this book is so great good and etc..... "Do you smell what the Rock is cookin".
