Summary: WWF and it's new line of books
Review: This was exactly as a thought it would be, minus a few sections that I wish were included. How did Duane Johnson feel about bashing Mick Foley with a chair over the head a dozen times at Royal Rumble... hell, how did Duane Johnson feel about anything The Rock has done. This book fell a little too much on the markish side for my taste.The truth is, The Rock is too young to write this book. Mick Foley, although he's not even 10 years older, had a story to tell. Steve Austin has a story to tell, although he decided not to write a book in this series. The next WWF book will apparently be Chyna. I have mixed feelings on that. What can Chyna tell us. Of course, I really have no clue. I'll just have to wait and see.

Summary: RASHBY SAYS... YOU SHOULD READ THIS BOOK
Review: This is a very detailed book on the life of Dwayne Johnson and The Rock. It is an easy read, broken into many parts, yet you will find yourself not wanting to put it down just to see what happens next. I don't read many books (biographies only) but this ranks up there as one of the best I have read. Do yourself a favor and check out THE ROCK SAYS...

Summary: Almost, but not quite
Review: This book was going great, then The Rock drops into character to describe his matches. I was really enjoying this book up until then. It was well written talking about his childhood in a wrestling family, but once he started throwing his catch phrases into the story it went down hill. The part he wrote about Owen was touching, but he was quick to get back into the character of the Rock. Almost a good book, but not quite.

Review: Don't make like a brain cell in The Rock's head, thinking that you can tell by the book that the words are not words that The Rock would use. HOW COULD ONE POSSIBLY KNOW WHAT WORDS ANOTHER WOULD USE. DO YOU KNOW THE ROCK PERSONALLY FOR YEARS? I THINK NOT! So The Rock has an impossible schedule, and he wanted to do this book for us, his fans. So he told his story, as only he can tell it. His view, his lines, his graphics and descriptions.....his way. And as he talked, the ghostwriter took it all down on paper. AND THAT'S WHY THE BOOK IS APTLY NAMED, THE ROCK SAYS.

Review: I just finished reading "The Rock Says"and I LOVED IT! Couldn't put it down. It made me laugh and in some places, it made me cry. As the wife of a former professional wrestler, I appreciated the history and honesty in this book. In a nutshell, it's a love story. It's Dwayne's love story with Dany, his love story with his parents and family and his love story with the world of professional wrestling. Yes, while it is very rare that someone can get into this business and become as successful as he has in such a short time, I can honestly guarantee you that he did indeed "earn" what he has accomplished. Did he have the genetics and the connections in the business that the average "Joe" doesn't? Yes, he did, but he had to prove himself. Had he not been able to work, he wouldn't be where he is today. Being able to work and coming up with a gimick that sells is what it's all about. It's entertainment and he entertains extreemly well. "The Rock Says" is a must read if you love professional wrestling. Thank you Dwayne Johnson for reaching into your soul and revealing "The Rock" to the millions and millions. You put a smile on my face and that's what it's all about!

Summary: I Went One on One With The Great One.
Review: -Last Satuarday (January 8th, 2000) was probably the biggest day of my life. The Rock was signing autographs for his new book, "The Rock Says..." at the world's biggest mall, the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. The setting was perfect. Being that the mall was only 4 miles from my house, I knew it was the place to be. I waited from 6:30am until 2:00 when he started signing and was #8 in line out of approx. 7,400 people in line. Overall, the newspaper reported 16,000 fans in the area he was signing, a record. Just to get a glimpse of the People's Champ. -So during 7 1/2 hrs. in line, I got my copy early at the mall, and read the whole book in about 4 hrs. I think it's really great. What's everyone's problem? I read Foley's book too and I admit, they are a world apart, but I judge a book by how much the reader enjoys it in general. If you are concerned about what he actually wrote in it and his wording wasn't right and the details are scattered, then that's different. In one of these reviews posted below, there is great anger from a reviewer that his career was more handed to him than Foley. It's true, but is that the problem w/ the book? Give me a break.....Also, The Rock did work hard. He wasn't popular until after nearly 3 long years and he created his character, which must have been difficult. The Rock has the best expressions, the best moves, and he is the best talker. In this book, a lot of these traits are talked about and there are a lot of interesting facts and information. Before I met The Great One, there was an announcement that The Rock will allow people to get up to 3 books signed each person. of course I got 3. They made it clear not to get upset at mall officials because it was The Rock's decision. He works hard to make people happy. When I met him, here's what happened: He greated me and HE gave me a handshake. He tole me thanks for coming out and take care of yourself. He was all smiles and always looked up. He spent over 1/2 a minute on me and that's with 7,400 people to go through in 2 hrs. (The next day, the newspaper reported 1,600 people got autographs) He knew that he needed to move fast, yet he took time to greet the fans and be REALLY friendly. He also gave a little speech before signing. This is his true character, and he is really a great person. The book shows that, and gives the inside scoop. If you are a Rock fan, believe me, you will like it. It wont meet Mick Foley's standards, but hey, this is a different style we are dealing with here. People shouldnt get so upset. It's a great book and easy to follow. I found flaws and ways I think could have made it better, but everyone finds flaws and there was NEVER a dull moment in the book. Its really exciting, and also full of bw and full color pictures. I recommend "The Rock Says..." very highly.

Review: Hello, I'm a big wrestling fan and am interested in purchasing The Rock Says and Have A Nice Day. However, I'm having a tough time choosing between the Rock's and Foley's books so I decided to check out the reader reviews. I figured the reviews would help, but from what I see, nearly all are EXTREMELY BIASED(I apologize to the sincere reviewers out there.) Nearly every review is either 5 stars or 1 star from Rock fans and non-fans, respectively. I know of us fans out there just want to help out the Great One, but the people who check this page when contemplating a purchase would really appreciate an unbiased review. Thank you
