Rating: Summary: D.J. should stick to wrestling Review: Sorry, this is a full-length magazine that's been expanded to a book with excessive photos. Can be read in about one day, unlike Foley's book, which takes a week to read. The sections written in the Rock's character are of no value. IMHO the author took advantage of his popularity. Wait for the paperback. I thought Foley's book, although hardly a contender for a Pulitzer Prize, gave more inside information about the wrestling business and more "scoops" about the people in it. Foley has also been in the business a lot longer and has a better story to tell - in substance and presentation. Foley's tribute to Owen Hart is more convincing too. Both books suffer from awkward covers. Not recommended, in spite of being a fan of his character.
Rating: Summary: This is a Great book Review: This book is one of the best books I have ever read! The Rock is truly the most electrifying man in sports entertainment!
Rating: Summary: The Rock Says.....this book rules! Review: I am a HUGE fan of The Rock, so as soon as I saw it in the store, I bought this book. It took about a week of reading, but I read it all, and I have to say, it was the best book I have ever read. Everything from learning of the time he took on 25 guys who were older than him, to his memories of the late-great Owen James Hart, The Rock Says is a book not only for the millions.....and millions of Rock fans, but it's for anyone at anytime! Great job, D.J!
Rating: Summary: It's Electrifying! Review: This the most electrifying book in sports enternainment. If ya smell what the Rock is cookin'
Rating: Summary: Give me a break.... Review: Ok this book was not even close to mankinds. All the rock talked about was beating up older kids, sleeping with older women, and how great he thinks he is. Then he goes on about collage football and again how great he thinks he is. And when he finaly started talking about wrestling he did it in charachter...how many times have we heard all those catch phrases. The thing I dont get is how anyone can give this book a good review its horrable. I think they just wanna swing on dwane's johnson. Just because the rock HELPED write this book does not mak it good. I tell ya dont buy this book its not worth it, but if you wanna hear the rock go on and on about himself and toot his own horn for 283 pages. Then By all means waste your money!
Rating: Summary: The Rock Says Review: The great 1 has done it again! if you like the people champ then you'll like his book...
Rating: Summary: The Rock says... Review: IT is the best book I have ever read!
Rating: Summary: Here are my thoughts Review: I loved the book, however I loved Mick's book much more. People are comparing this book to micks and therefore giving this a bad rating thats like comparing Suzane Sommers to Of mice and men ( and im not saying rocks book is anything like Sommers his book does rule. ) you can't do it. I don't think anyone who hasnt read Micks book can say they didn't like this one.OK so he had a ghostwriter it dosen't matter ( as the rock would put i) those were still the rocks thoughts and mabye he dosent have the ability to write a book ( not that hes dumb, but i couldn't write a book either ). CONS. halfway through he starts talking in the 3rd person like the rock and i didnt find that intresting i found it to be a 20 minuite raw is war but luckily that ended fast. IT's too short but I cant hold that against Dwayne cause ( stone cold said so ) no he's so young and cant possibly make it to micks and he skips around too much 1 chapter he is a new guy next page he is the rock and peoples champ with the IC titleGreat book but it but get it b4 you read micks
Rating: Summary: The Rock Says Review: The rock says was awesome. i dont usually read but when i got my book i never put it down. i watch wrestling every time possible but i always wanted the inside stuff. this book gives it all!
Rating: Summary: I'm going to be perfectly blunt. Review: This is NOT AS GOOD as Mick Foley's "Have A Nice Day! A Tale Of Blood And Sweatsocks". At least his books is penned by him. Here, Mr. Dwayne Johnson dictates what he wants written, and it doesn't seem as if it is his own words. Plus, about 1/2 way through, he breaks into character, and guarnteed, you'll start skim reading, 'cause you'll have heard it all before. Having said that, the first half is an interesting read, but it's more about college football than pro-wrestling. If you want to read a book based purely on the sport of kings and how to pay your dues in the buisness, get Foley's best seller. If you want to find out about the People's Champ, then go ahead. But don't get your hopes up.
