Summary: The Most Electrifying Book I have ever read
Review: The Rock, the most electrifying man in sports entertainment tells his life story in his book, The Rock Says. Starting when the great One, Dwayne Johnson was born on May 3, 1972 all the way up to his professional wrestling career. Dwayne Johnson, a.k.a. The Rock tells all his secrets. Learn about his football career, his wife Dany, and how he came up with all of his best promos, like "Hey Jabroni," and "Know Your Role." In this book the Rock recalls his injury prone football career that fell down the drain, and how living that kind of life is not so glamorous at all. Read about how he got into the WWF after he lived off of spaghetti and slept on putrid stained mattresses. Learn about how he became The Rock. Read and find out about his "fake" rivals with Stone Cold, The Undertaker and Triple H. The Rock tells about his best friend Owen, and how his death affected the WWF. This is a great book about a person's life. So take a stroll down Jabroni drive, hook a left at the corner of Know Your Role boulevard, check yourself into the smack down hotel, and pick up a copy of The Rock Says like the millions and millions of The Rock's fans and enjoy the book. "If ya Smell What The Rock Is Cooking".

Review: You think if he was going to have someone pen the book for him that he would actually find a ghost with some talent.

Summary: The Rock shows us the whole package
Review: Dwayne Johnson, son of famous wrestler Rocky Johnson, didn't have life as easy as we might have thought when we consider the millions and millions of the Rock's dollars that are in his pocket today, but it's never quite that simple. The Rock came from moderately humble beginnings, just like everyone else and he struggled long and hard to find his calling in life. Canadian football wasn't the answer, the NFL wasn't the answer either. He was treated poorly after college football and felt a strong urge to become a showman, a wrestler like his father and grandfather before him. He suffered in the minor leagues of wrestling until he got his shot in the bigs. Fans hated him and confidence was hard to come by, but soon The Rock would be born and he would change the face of sports entertainment forever. As the most popular heel character on earth, he lights up areas around the world with a fire that only he can bring. His story may not be the most eloquent out there, but it is the truth, and it is quite entertaining. If you want to add depth to your love of The Rock, read his book. If you want a critical biography, read Dan Quayle's book. That's all there is to it.

Summary: The Rock Says
Review: This is an amazing book. Not just because it is about the most popular athlete in the United States, but because it is a truthful journy of a man transforming into a God-like persona.

This book is a must read because it allows The Rock's millions of fans to see just how he had to struggle before becoming who he is today. Dwayne Johnson shows readers a side that most would never get to see. He discribes how he had to work hard to get where he is and he holds nothing back when he talks about his good times and bad. If you are a sports fan, this book is a must have. If you are a Rock fan, it's a must have. If you totally detest professional wrestling and sports in general, this book is STILL a must have.

Summary: Don't compare this to Foley!
Review: Hey! Quit comparing this book to Foley's! They are two different people and the'r stories are 2 different ones..Foley talks about his injuries and WWF life, Rocky tells his life story...TWO DIFFERENT THINGS! And, if you don't like Rock's book, DON'T READ IT AGAIN! And quit dissing him in front of his fans! Grow up!

Summary: If you like wrestling read this book
Review: Despite what other people might have said I found this book very interesting. It gives you insight on the road the Rock traveled to be where he is. It's not only about wrestling, but the struggles encountered in life. It's also a tale about the American dream and one person's struggle to get to it. The rock is honest and writes some funny segments in his rock persona. You learn a lot about wrestling behind the scenes and the bonds between the wrestlers. I highly recommend this book if ya smeeeelllllllll what the rock..................is cookin!

Summary: Know Your Role
Review: I was very excited to read Rocky's book, after Reading Mick's (Foley). It was a surprising insite to his family and career, but I guess I was expecting another literary piece of genius like Mick's book. I did however enjoy when The Rock took over in the middle of the book; his personality really shined through. I remember Dwayne Johnson from his playing days in the Orange Bowl in Miami...and I have followed his career in Mid South and the WWF and he is one very "Electrifying" entertainer.

Summary: Well written book from the beginning to the ending!
Review: First of all, I would like to say that im not a avid wrestling fan, i watch both WWF and WCW. i work in a library, and love to read about other people lives and how they became who they are. and to read Dewayne Johnson's autobiography and how he became a professional wrestler blew my mind. he came a long way. i liked the fact that he pushes for what he wants, and didn't let anything stand in his way, and the fact that he played football in high school and college...graduated from University of Miami with a degree in criminology and had his ups and downs with football...he still came out on top. i believe Dewayne Johnson has his on identity and yes he had some good connections to help him get into the wrestling business. we all have some type of good connections to get us where we want to go...but the bottom line is this...i found out more about Dewayne Johnson and The Rock than if i didnt read the book... they are smart, witty, and well educated to know what they both want even though they are two different personalities. you really have to read the book word for word to understand that Dewayne is telling the reader that he is just an ordinary person that loves to wrestle.

So don't compare Dwayne Johnson's book to Mick Foley's book because they are two different people and share probably different views on things.

Summary: "Superfly" Snuka Ready To Join The Rock As An Author
Review: The Rock's entire family appears to be made of professional wrestlers. Cousins, dad, grandfather - but the most famous and legendary of them all is undoubtedly, Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka.

The Rock talks about uncle Jimmy, and the rest of his famous family, in "The Rock Says" - And, for those of you that demanded it, The "Superfly" will be penning his own biography for the multitudes of his fans. I'm proud to be co-authoring this book, which is tentatively titled, "Tales From The Top Of The Cage", with Mr. Snuka.

Similar to "The Rock Says", Snuka's biography will chronicle the legendary wrestler's life, but will not fall into the path that appears to be the biggest criticism of Rocky's fine book. That one flaw appears to be when "The Rock" wrote as his character, rather than as himself.

"Superfly" Jimmy Snuka pours his heart and soul into "Tales From The Top Of The Cage" and gives insight into his upbringing, as well as a never before revealed behind the scenes look at wrestling, promoters, his family, The Rock, The WWF and more.

"The Rock Says" is a great book, but it is merely an introduction to what fans of this famous wrestling family are craving. Duane Johnson (The Rock) did a great job, but Uncle Jimmy uses his experience to tell the complete story.

I believe that in a few years, "The Rock" will have a lot more to tell and if he decides to write another book, it will be truly incredible. He simply doesn't have nearly enough time in wrestling to experience what legends like Jimmy Snuka have.

What follows is a detailed review of "The Rock Says" --------------------------------------- As a ring announcer & commentator for professional wrestling matches, I have first hand experience of what transpires "behind the scenes". Dwayne Johnson aka "The Rock" does a fine job of taking fans into this once highly secretive and restricted area. One complaint would be that the book is written in the Rock character at times. That aspect took from what could have been a captivating book.

I, as well as millions of other people, find the Rock to be an incredibly entertaining personality, but the most interesting parts of this book are clearly when the author speaks freely as Dwayne Johnson. The Rock is all over TV, magazines, cds, and nearly everywhere we look. The man behind The Rock is what makes a biography intriguing.

Dwayne Johnson surfaces on the pages for approximately 75% of this wrestling literary buffet. And he provides some great insight into his character and family history.

Some great highlights are when Johnson tells how he prepares his fantastic promos (promos are when wrestlers talk on the microphone). He also provides a few of his favorites while giving in depth insight as to what the situation was that led to the promo and what state of mind he was in at the time.

Dwayne Johnson shares his unique entry into the world of professional wrestling while explaining exactly how he constantly worked and improved in the WWF's farm wrestling league. Yes, the Rock literally wrestled in barns!

The Rock comes from a bloodline that is undoubtedly legendary in wrestling, yet he has eclipsed all of their fame. This book will provide fans and outsiders to wrestling with enough of this electrifying entertainer's life story and family history to make it a very worthwhile read.

I would have liked it to have been longer. It took me only 18 hours to read it from cover to cover, though I'm a quick read.

Maybe when the Rock's schedule lightens, he will pen another book entirely on his own. I look forward to it.
