This book gives you the complete story of The Rock from pre-birth to present day, including all his memorable matches and events in his life. The Rock expresses himself in a way that no other person can. This is the best book I have ever read. You must read it, If You Smelllllllllllllll What The Rock... Is Cookin'!
Rating: Summary: The Rock lays the SmackDown Review: Not as electrfying as Mick Foley's book, yet a great one itself. The Rock reveals his struggles throughout his young life, and how he overcame many odds to become one of the most popular wrestlers of all times. This book is without a shadow of a doubt the best recent release to hit the shelves if ya smell what the Rock is sayin
Rating: Summary: A New Literature Review: Those giving this book an unfavorable review fail to understand that it's for the victims of the breakdown of public education. Like the readers of an earlier, literate age, these unfortunates feel an instinctive yearning for communion with the written word. The Rock Says splendidly fulfills that need. Aimed at an audience uninstructed in logic and rhetoric, and unresponsive to nobility or beauty, The Rock Says relies instead on the menacing catch phrases that increasingly compose the lingua franca of a society addicted to TV to convey its message of bestial rage, occasionally tempered by cloying sentimentality. The author brilliantly appeals to the reader's fulsome worship of grotesque comic-book figures, and generally stays within the limits of the modern reader's circumscribed attention span. I would recommend this book to anyone tired of TV or with a broken Nintendo.
Rating: Summary: The Rock Says know your role and shut your mouth! Review: If you like wrestling, especially the most electrifying man is sports entertainment today, The Rock, I would reccomend this book to you. It tells everything about his life as a child, his life growing up with the problems he faced, and his life in the wrestling business.I loved this book and I am sure you will too if you read it.
Rating: Summary: Shine it up real nice but don't read it Review: The Rock is a great deal better in person than in print. Perhaps this should have been a book on tape. Even still, the Rock at only 27 years old doesn't have a great deal to tell. Even though he's a 3rd generation star, and possibly the biggest star in the biz, there are no real tales of suffering in the wrestling business and getting screwed over like Mick Foley's book. It's a nice souvenir to have but the book is basically a white wash with the Rock often in character and little to no inside information or stories.
Rating: Summary: Focused And Inspiring Review: For a 27 year old, the Rock Says.....some pretty inspiring things. For one, he appreciates how others have helped him out. Also, he has a powerful loving relationship with his lovely wife, Dani. It really impressed me that no matter where he is in the world, Rock..uh Dwayne Johnson always found the time during any day of his life, to call his wife. To me that speaks alot about true love. There is quite alot of information in here about Rocky's 27 years. A great deal of emotions, feelings, and some inspiring stories. I have mixed feelings about when Dwayne turns into the Rock Character in mid-book. Its an interesting special effect when he takes on his Rock Persona in his match with Steve Austin. However, all those curse words are unnecessary. Also, I wish The Rock talked more about his relationship with the other Federation Superstars besides Steve Austin and Owen Hart. The Chapters on Austin and Hart were well done. Overall, this is a good light read as I would not be surprised if a follow-up to this biography. The Rock is without a doubt the best dude on the stick in all of the Wrestling World and it shows as Rocky is getting offers to appear in movies and television left and right. Rock Man, there may be a day when you become the "Among The Premiere Entertainers" in all worlds one day!
Rating: Summary: If you smell what the Rock is Cookin..Its a great book! Review: I read "The Rock Says", and I can honestly say by the middle of the book I felt like I really knew him. He takes you on his own personal journey, and he really lets down his guard for all of his fans to see and experience the real person behind all the glitz & glamour that surrounds him. He talks about his father's struggle with alcohol, his own tragedy of surviving on basically pennies a day, and living without his tag team partner(his wife), all sacrifices he made to succeed in life, and to be the person he is today. He takes you into the life of a professional wrestler and shows you the sacrifices me makes daily. He also shows you that he is very sweet, sensitive, caring, and most of all very dedicated to his family. I was very touched after I read his book, and I would recommend this book very highly to anyone..."If you SMELL what the Rock is COOKIN, it's a great book."
Rating: Summary: Profound Allegorical Masterpeice Review: This multi-layered magnum opus of The Rock has changed the way I view English literature. Rather than writing a didactic expository essay, The Rock has created an engaging story laden with profundity. I have never read any book this good, perhaps Joyce and Faulkner may compare, but The Rocks consummate mastery of the English language continues to amaze me. All hail the new master of western literature!
