Rating: Summary: Steady as a Rock... Review: A lot of people complained about Dwayne Johnson going into the character of the Rock too often in this book, and although admitidly annoying, The Rock drones in character in only 3 chapters. And I felt by putting this in the book, he was just trying to give us all a taste of what he's created, or a sense of what the character, The Rock, is all about. It's obvious that he keeps this persona of The Rock separate from himself-- The Rock is only a character and this is why Dwayne only refers to this part of himself in the 3rd person. What you get throughout the rest of the book is a surprisingly sensitive, honest, and interesting book about this man's life. He takes pride in his family, his choices, and his work ethic. Although at times he seems almost too confident, he also shows a vulnerable side that tells stories most macho men would never share. I will admit I was never a huge fan of wrestling and only loved The Rock for his funny dialogs and gorgeous muscles, but after this read, I see much more and respect the man behind the People's Eyebrow. While it's true that no book centered on wrestling could ever reach the standards of anything too deep, this is the closest you'll ever get.
Rating: Summary: Some reviewers are UNFAIR! Review: The Rock Says is definitely THE best book I've read.I was reading over other reviews, and I'd like to comment on one.The person said The Rock has only been wrestling for three years, and that it's too early in his career to write a book. After reading his book, you'd realize he grew up involved in wrestling. That's why he wrote a book now.Another reviewer said the book was awful because he told about his life.Well, sorry to break this to you but that's what a biography does.It tells about someone's life. Before I read The Rock Says,I wasn't a fan of WWF.Now,The Rock is my favorite wrestler. To all those reviewers who hate The Rock and write bad reviews of his book,I just have to say....KNOW YOUR ROLE AND SHUT YOUR MOUTH!
Rating: Summary: Only for the fanboys Review: I read this book with little expectation because I had already heard less than sterling reviews from friends. It lived up to my low expectations. This book is great if you are just looking for the Rock in character and spouting his catch phrases. If you are looking for anything more than an overlong magazine story, stay away or wait for the paperback. This book feels false and rushed. While the Rock is no doubt a great talent, it's a little early in his career to be publishing a biography at it shows.
Rating: Summary: I love what The Rock says! Review: This was one of the best reads of the year. I was pleasantly surprised, that although he did reveal just enough behind-the-scenes to make us happy, he talked about other things besides wrestling, since there is more to his life than wrestling. Very well-written story from an excellent writer.
Rating: Summary: Tony says " Buy the book jabroni" Review: After reading "The Rock Says," I now know what it is like to be a professional wrestler in the WWF. From the time the Rock was just a baby, until when he is on top of the WWF, this book covers it all. Growing up in a family famous for wrestling, his father and grandfather had made a path for the Rock to follow. After playing football in high school, at Miami, and the CFL, the Rock decided that was not his thing. Therefore, at the age of 25, he became the first third generation wrestler in history. Gaining success in the WWF, the Rock continues to grow and is more popular than ever. Included in the book is a section of pictures of the Rock and his family throughout his career. These too help you understand his heritage, and the people in his family. I rated this book four stars, because it was detailed and interesting. I enjoyed reading this book because I am a wrestling fan, and I found the information in his book to be very up to date. To know about a wrestler's backround, can really help you know this persons past and upcoming bright future. I hope that many other wrestlers write their own books. That way fans can get an idea of the wrestler's true personality. Now that I have read "The Says Rock," I feel like I have an understand how the wrestling business works, and how hard you have to work in order to be successful.
Rating: Summary: The Rock Says... Review: This book is awesome. It summarizes The Rock's life from his chilhood watching his dad wrestle, to becoming the most electrifying man in sports-entertainment. A must read for any wrestling fan!

Rating: Summary: Thanks To All The Amazon.Com Fans! Review: Dear Amazon.Com customers, It's been a very rewarding process, over the last three months especially, to see "The Rock Says... " really 'get a hold' on all the fans all over the world. It's also very kind of everyone to take the time to share their thoughts on the work on such great sites as Amazon.com. Keep up the reading everyone, and once again thanks for everything-it's truly appreciated by myself, Dwayne Johnson and his family, and all at the World Wrestling Federation and Regan Books.
Rating: Summary: NOT The Best Rasslin' Book.... Review: Let's be truthful and honest with ourselves and have a grown-up reality check-The Rock Says is simply not a good book. It is an overrrated,dewy-eyed,ghost-written pamphlet for the racist (all black men are Huggy Bear style pimps) and sexist (bare naked ladies!) WWF,and does not really goes deep as everybody thinks it does.I do not care about The Rock's wedding and I certainly do not care for the politically sinister Nation Of Domination storyline back in 1997. Buy Bret Hart's book, watch the new era Nitro on TNT,and stay lucky.
Rating: Summary: I Have to tell you... Review: When I first bought this book I wasn't quite sure why. I'm a 21 year old girl, not an avid wwf fan, and dont know too much about the sport, but I had heard of this man and the book caught my eye. I expected a hard, boring, reveiw of sports...but what I got was an incredible view of an incredible life.Even a person who hates wrestling would find this book wonderful.
