Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Golden Shower of Praise Review: I was happy to read the story of Bill Goldberg. He is the sexiest pro wrestling star ever.
Sure, it reads like a transcript of his talking, and jumps around in time, but that's okay. Not as ambitious as Mick Foley's or The Rock's. But I like Goldberg better, so I'm biased. I enjoy his no-nonsense approach in the ring. His achievements as a Jewish athlete are notable. His affection for his male friends is nice to read. His saucy gossip about the juicier aspects of his former teammates and other wrestlers was quite amusing, as were his decriptions of his body parts and their various injuries and inflammations. Ouch! Goldberg is a star missed in the ring. Hopefully he'll be in more actions films, showing more of his amazing physique!!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Excellent! Review: A must read for not only wrestling fans, but for fans of fine literature, a gripping masterpiece written by one of the most awe-inspiring athletes in the world today! Two thumbs up!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: I'm mentioned in the book, of course I love it! Review: As Goldberg was writing this book, I was contacted by a person behind the scenes of the production of the book. He asked me for input about what the fans of Goldberg wanted to see in the future book. Of course I was excited to offer some assistance to Goldberg, so I put a link on my web site so that other fans cold email me their thoughts as well. I gathered all of the info and sent it in. For my efforts I was mentioned in the book near the end in the acknowledgments. By the way Bill, my last name only has one "E": Myers not Meyers. Just a little info for your next work. It is amazing to me that Goldberg would ask for help about writing this book. The man has so many stories to tell right now that he could probably write ten books, but he wanted to put out just one that covered something for everyone. And he and Steve did just that with this book. I will always keep my autographed copy of I'm Next! in a safe place because it is worth much more than the 25 bucks printed on it. And I'm not talking about the value of the autograph. It is the value of the man who wrote it. A good buy for any Goldberg fan. --The Golden One
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: NOT FOR THE AVERAGE WRESTLING FAN Review: Before I start, please be advised I have read the books of Mick Foley, Bret Heart, The Rock, D.D.P. and Arn Anderson. Without a doubt, this is the worst wrestling book I have ever read. It seems Bill Goldberg has had a cake walk through the ranks of Pro Wrestling. That's fine. The only disturbing thing about it is he brags about it, along with riding in his brother's jet or eating at one of his brother's resturants. He is high on every avenue he has be personally successful with, (his long winning streak, and low on everything that hasn't fallen his way, (professional football, turning heel, etc.) He speaks ill of Booker T. when he doesn't feel good about putting over Goldberg, then Goldie cries when he has to put Nash over. The hardcore Goldberg Fan might love his book. The average Wrestling Fan will prboably vomit!!!
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Goldberg not the best of the wrestling genre Review: Being a wrestling fan since the early 70's, I enjoy the mainstream attention wrestling has been getting lately. So, naturally, I had to buy Foley's book, and then The Rock's, and finally Goldberg's. Goldberg's is, by far, the worst of the three. The book is almost 250 pages long, and he spends 100 talking about his wrestling career and the other 150 talking about his less-than-stellar football years. He was a college football star that didn't go to class, drank too much, sucker-punched and bullied people. He hit people with frying pans, his brother hit people with a portable tv...there isn't a Goldberg that understands the concept of a fair fight. Classic story of the guy with talent that took advantage of all it offered. Forget his in-ring persona. College football Bill Goldberg is certainly the type of person you'd love to hate.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: If you want to know Bill Goldberg, read this book Review: Bill Goldberg tells it like it is in his book and he is sincerely grateful for his success. This isn't just another mechandising opportunity for Goldberg,(he has plenty) it's his chance to share his strange journey with his fans. This isn't a churned out ghost written autobiography, this was a year long project. How do I know this? Because I'm Bill's brother (he used to be my brother before he became famous) and we wrote this book together. I spent countless hours taping Bill's story and after I put it down on paper, Bill edited every chapter...three times! After his first edit, I would do a rewrite and send it back to him. Then he would edit it again and I would do the second rewrite and submit it to our editor at Crown Books. After his suggestions, Bill would look it over one last time to make sure it was just right. It was a royal pain...but it was worth it. You see, Bill Goldberg is a perfectionist and if he was going to do a book, it had to be good and humorous and most importantly, it had to sound like him. I observed my brother living the American dream and his success story was too cool not to share. I said to Bill, "Dude, someone should write a book about your bizarre life... and that someone should be me." He said "let's do it brother" and so we did. And we're very proud of our efforts. We thank you for buying 'I'm Next' and we hope you enjoy it.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Boring. Don't bother. Review: Do not read this book. It's a waste of your time and very boring. There are better wrestling books out there. This is not one of them. Goldberg must have an ego the size of Texas to think we'd be interested in reading every friggin detail of his early life as a football player. I thought we were reading this to learn about his life as a pro-wrestler. Avoid, unless you have trouble sleeping.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Alittle disappointed........... Review: Having read Mick Foley's book I was interested in how someone who is basically new to the sport views it. To say I was diappointed is an understatment. The book itself is well written and easy to read. We are take back to Goldberg's childhood and through his NFL career. In fact Goldberg spends most of the book writing about football and not enough on wrestling.I only hope that more seasoned wrestlers like: Kevin Nash,Luger, Sting and Ric Flair would give wrestling fans something to read about.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Dis-regard his stature and open your eye's people!!! Review: I "enjoyed" the not-so-jolly adventures of Bill, but to be honest, everyone is saying great things cuz he's famous, or you wanna be his friend or you're afraid he'll hurt you or something, wanna know why? Cuz that's the kind of guy he REALLY is, bullies NEVER change no matter how rich, masked or attractive they may look. I will say that it was great of him to express himself the way he did in the book because that's the way he would explain it if you talked to him directly. Not all perfect explanations of everything written from birth till present, but man this book was so mis-matched and backwards it could've replaced Scott Hall's head. The "charity" is great, honest, but it is quite common for people like him to do all the charitiy such as visiting the sick kids in the hospitals becuase their wallats are being stacked. Wouldn't you think WCW would've done that to hold such a "great, sweet, nice"......"person??" They may as well done a Hitler biography and tried to call it a bestseller cuz (sarcasm) 'he was only achieving a dream' there. All in all he can't change his life, love it or leave it but the book was terrible. I'm sorry Bill, that's just the way I feel
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Purely Egomanical Review: I have never in my life read such an arrogant piece of literature like Bill Goldberg's autobiography. This book shows absolutely no insight into his life and just serves as many chapters of cheapshots. The man shows no respect for anyone or the wrestling business. It is amazing for a guy to write a book only a year after becoming a wrestler. That in itself set the stage for this pure arrogance. I don't think Bill Goldberg is half as good as he thinks he is. This is by far the worst autobiography. It provides nothing for the fan; just ramblings of an insecure egomaniac. Definitely don't buy this book unless you are low on toilet paper.
