Rating: Summary: The Sixteenth Round: No 1 Contender to Superb Writer Review: This book is incredible! I've already read Hurricane: The Miraculous Journey by J.S. Hirsch, and Lazarus and the Hurricane, but in England it is extremely difficult to find this book, and I had to wait 18 days for the it to me. It was definately worth the wait. Being only 16, I don't often enjoy reading, but this story just reels you in and I rarely put it down. Rubin Carter: what an inspiration! Read it! It is definately worth it, especially when you think that it was written 30 years ago.
Rating: Summary: great Review: This book was great. it is emotional and it shows life from a different perspective. Everyone should read this book.
Rating: Summary: Another Round for the 16th Round Review: This important penguin book has a new id# 0140149295. It is fitting that it has been reissued in Canada.
Rating: Summary: a black man living in a racist america Review: this novel of a man living in a 6 by 6 ft. cell is a different perspective of the way it was for an african- american living in an extremely tough and turbulent time. Rubin takes you through his times as a troublesome youth growing up in Patterson, New Jersey to his prize fighting days to his times in prison. I would reccomend this book to anyone who is interested in black history or looking at a man's amazing personal journey.
Rating: Summary: A touching story inspires child. Review: This story reached out and touched the lives of many people. It also made people realize not to be racist. I know that I used to be racist and this turned my life around. The fact that rubin was in jail for a crime he didnt commit just because he wasnt white isnt at all fair. His story inspired me not to be racist and to get others not to hate the non-white. It has touched many lives and i like that. I am one of Rubin's biggest fans.

Rating: Summary: Reality Review: Those of us who grew up in middle class America have no idea what a survival struggle childhood was for Ruben Carter and other kids like him. Read this story in all its uncensored rawness for a harsh dose of reality. Then marvel with me at the wave of honor and respect Mr. Carter is now riding in spite of his bout with the "powers that be".
Rating: Summary: brilliant and shocking Review: To read a true 20th century tradgedy look no farther. an ispiration as it really happened. i loved the message of what we can overcome if we set out to do so. Amazing as it shows the very best and the very worst in human nature and i recommend it for all mature readers. it can be graphic and disturbing but it gets the point across.

Rating: Summary: Half way through the book Review: Well from the other reviews your discovered the basic plot. I just want to let you know that I previously ordered this book, and I am about half way through. I do not even enjoy reading but I haven't been able to put this book down. What makes this book even greater is that fact that is is true. Also while reading it, the irony of the fact that we know that rubin carter has been set free but he doesn't even know this, as it was written while he was in jail. This book is incredible, and if I knew how good it would be before I read bought it I would probably pay what ever I had to. Thanx for taking your time in reading my review I just want to express my interest in this book
