Summary: A Champion's View on a Champion's Life
Review: 'The Hurricane' was one of the best films I have seen. And for a film to make me want to read it's extra special. 'The Sixteenth Round' is extremely well writen, because no one can write a champion's life story better than himself. The story of Rubin Carter caught my attention when I was researching into my sport's history. As a Junior Welsh Amateur Champion myself I can understand what being on top really feels like, to have to watch every little thing you do incase something can be used against you in the future. This book has inpired me to learn even more about Rubin Carter. After reading this book I felt like I knew Mr. Carter and wanted to help him somehow. My wish is to meet, my hero, Mr. Carter.

Summary: Amazing Story - Revisited....
Review: ..having read the superb book "the hurricane",i wanted to know more of this remarkable man's story,his autobiography did not disappoint.reading his own words convey the powerful emotions one can only begin to imagine when your world is shattered by life imprisonment for a crime you did not commit. mr. carter's writings of his childhood up to his wrongful imprisonment paint a graphic picture of the forces that mold us, he was by no means a model citizen, but then, who of us are. i found the spirit of this man extraordinary,i hope that the visibility his life story has received of late, will in some way compensate him. but for the many years stolen, there is no repayment. i found both "the 16th round" and "the hurricane" great reading, for they fill in the gaps for each other. fyi: "the 16th round" can be had from penguin books out of canada.

Review: After watching "The Hurricane" starring Denzel Washington. I started searching for this book, and then finally Amazon started taking pre-orders for it! It's the greatest book I have ever read! I couldn't put it down! I read sometimes all night long! I strongly recommend you to read this book!

Review: hello to whoever is reading this. although i have not yet read the book i cant wait. i orderd the book for the simple reason of the movie "The Hurricane" when i saw that i was so inspirerd by his courage and will to fight for his rights that i just knew i had to have that book as soon as. so i went around to book stores and none of them had it so i came here and this site is so handy and helpfull. anyway from the reviews i have read and from seeing the movie i cant wait until it comes and i am sure that it will be a great book.
I know this because Rubin "Hurricane" Carter is a great role model and inspiring.

Review: Hi I have never wanted a book as bad as I want this one. The first time i have ever hear of the"HURRICANE" was the movie. I saw this movie and it grabbed me, pulled me in i couldn't spot watching it. I even put up a punching bag because of it. After I saw the movie I did a little research on Rubin and learned AMAZING things. So I came on amazon looking for the book I put in an order for it and can't wait to get. And once I read other peoples reviews I knew I wanted it. So now I sit and wait, butg if it is as intresting as every one says it will be worth it. I hope you find this review helpful and inspire you to read this book.

Summary: NO NEED FOR A BOOK MARK ON THIS ONE!
Review: I couldn't put the book down (Hense the reason I didn't need a book mark). This book is easy to read and it was exciting and suspenseful. It starts off in the beginning, when he was a child. No one can remember vivid detail of their younger life (I'm talking kindergarden). The way Rubin wrote this book was like he remebered everything. The description of the racism and corruption in the police force back then just made me scream! It angered me on how much the prosecution lied to frame Rubin.
You'll love this book like no other!
Rubin Carter's style and attitude he put into this book was great! It is as if he had written other great books previously. IF YOU WERE INTERESTED ENOUGH TO READ A COUPLE OF REVIEWS (INCLUDING MINE) THEN YOU WILL DEFIANATLY LOVE THIS BOOK! I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY IT'S OUT OF PRINT! THIS BOOK IS A MUST READ!!!

Review: I didn't read the book yet but I watched the movie. I think he is a real hero and I think he is very lucky. Without Lesra he wouldn't be able to get out of prison. I must say that I am very deeply touched by his story.
