Rating: Summary: Foley really is Good! Review: I have to admit that I like the first book "Have a Nice Day: A tale of Blood and Sweatsocks" better, but this one was GREAT!! I swear, Foley has the ability to make people read his books and not want to put them down! Just reading some of the reviews I was shocked to find out that Foleys books were the first books they've ever read on their own! That has to say something! I think people enjoy his work more than some others is because he writes it himself, he is the one that sits down and spends his own time to tell us his life story instead of having a ghost writer, do none of the work yet get paid lots of money! (like Chyna..ahem...) When you read this book you just don't want to set it down. It is a continuation of his first book and it is GREAT!! The only 2 bad parts are 1) how much he talked about the PTC, and 2) when you get to the end because you want more!!
Rating: Summary: Foley is Good is Great! Review: This book is a perfect extension of Mick's previous #1 seller Have a Nice Day, and if you haven't read Have a nice day, please do so because Mick takes you back a few times within his newest best seller and you wouldn't know what he is denoting unless you've read it. Great humor, intense writings (EPILOUGE), and even some very in depth emotional writing that can bring you to the point of tears(refering to the loss of his friend and co-heart Owen Hart). I'm glad Mick Foley is a writer but more of a realist especially when sorting through the wrestling hubbub and his real life with wife Collette and kids, Dewey and Noel. I personally think the literary world has a true blue writer on their hands. Get ready to be given the double arm DDT!!!
Rating: Summary: FOLEY IS GOOD! plus+ AUTOGRAPH! Review: i got this book on June 6 and i went all the way to Mall Of America just to get this autographed personally by him! Foley Is Good is a way better than the first one Have A Nice Day. ...Mick discusses his thoughts and opions on people like The Rock, Mean Street Posse, Godfather, Al Snow and other people. You want to buy this Book!
Rating: Summary: Foley Is Not So Good Review: Foley should have waited a few years before putting out a new book. After reading about his Death Matches and his massive blood loss, I really don't care what his top 10 favorite Christmas Carols are. Some parts of this book seem useless. Even though this book gave me many hearty laughs, it can't even compare with his first book. This book is for the non-wrestling fan.
Rating: Summary: Foley Is Not So Good Review: After reading about his death matches and massive blood loss in the first book, do you think I really care about what his top 10 favorite Christmas Carols are? Foley should have waited a few years before he wrote another book. Plus his dissapointing book signing made the book alot worse to me.
Rating: Summary: My Nipples?!? COME ON THIS IS FUNNY! Review: this is very hilarious. and the reason i said "My Nipples" is because i love the picture that Noelle drew of her nipples. it's got info on the infamous "I Quit" match between The Rock and Mankind at Royal Rumble and other stuff like that
Rating: Summary: After You "Have a nice day" you will realize "Foley Is Good" Review: I bought "Have a nice day" And it was actually the only book that i read on my own. "Foley is Good" is now the second book that i have read willingly. This book picks up RIGHT WHERE "Have A nice day" left off. The book is not as long as "Have a nice day" and does not have as much vulgarity but you will not be dis-appointed. Foley picks up on issues that really bug him, some really funny stories (Yes it has Al Snow Jokes). This is not that kind of book where you can only read it for so long, then have to go put it down. It doesn't even feel like you are reading it, but more like Foley himself is sittng right there telling the story to you. This Book Is a must have for...Hell...anyone!
Rating: Summary: Foley Is really Good Review: This book is a must have for any true wrestling fan. This book might be better than the "HAVE A NICE DAY",cause he shares more backstage stories, thoughts and opinions. This book is just awesome. Also in the book are some pic's of his last match ,and other nice pics.He is also goes into great detail explaining how he felt going into big matches. The only other book as good as this one is Have a nice day. This book truly deserves 5 stars.
Rating: Summary: Great stuff...except for the last 100 pages or so Review: Reviewing this book is pretty easy... If you liked Have a Nice Day then you'll like the first 3/4 of Foley is Good; FIG picks up right where HaND left off and delivers the same great anecdotes and insights. Of particular interest to me were the anecdotes about getting HaND published - dealing with the assigned ghost writer who was never used, defending statements made in the book to various legal teams (defending the Scorpio comment was priceless), etc... It's a great rollercoaster ride (an anology I think Foley would appreciate) that had me laughing out loud one minute and feeling great sympathy the next.My only problem with the book is the last 1/4 or so which is dedicated to defending the WWF against its most troublesome critics - such as the PTC (Parents Television Council). I doubt that one supporter of the PTC would change their views after reading this section, and I doubt one PTC supporter will ever read it to begin with. At times, I really questioned Foley's tactics in his argument, as he stooped almost as low as his accusers. In the end, I had to question why this section was included and can only conclude that it is essentially filler for a book that doesn't need any filler. I knocked a star off the rating for this section alone; it was like a Test vs. Posse handicap match.
Rating: Summary: Foley is GOOD! Review: What can I say? Foley does it again with his incredible sophomore novel. He focuses more on his personal views in this book than he did in "Have A Nice Day!" However, it is still extremely entertaining and a great read. If you loved his first contribution, you'll enjoy the second as well...or as Foley/Patterson would say, you'll go BANANA!
