Review: This is a book that every time it starts to get an emotion out of you, there is suddenly a penis joke or a joke about homosexuals to get a cheap laugh. As Mick is one of my favorite wrestlers, and he seems to be so proud of the book, it saddens me that some of the greatest insight ever into the business that is professional wrestling also had to contain all of these unnecesary, vulgar comments. They distract from the content, and fill the low expectations of a non-wrestling fan. For God's Sake Mick, this is your life story! While penis and gay jokes may work on Monday Night Raw, where the viewer expects to find them, they do not pass for great literature, and they are certainly not something to be proud of. Also, Mick Foley, while trying to portray himself as humble and greatful, shows his true egomanical core in this book. I used to believe he did those unbelievable stunts because he loved the pain, and he loved his job. Now I see that he did what he did because he wanted everyone to like him, and when they didn't, he blamed them. He seemed oddly bitter towards the fans after Hell In A Cell for not immediately flocking to him at his next autograph session, even though he was still portrayed as a heel. Also, he forgot to mention the Slammies, where he first showed himself to be incredibly hilarious, dedicating his award to a man who was like a father to him, Aldo Montoya. That's what made me a fan, and I guess he doesn't recognize it as a turning point for him in the WWF. Still, a great chapter about the death match tournament, as well as a beautiful and fitting tribute to Owen Hart, and a hilarious story about a match with Owen involving kicks to the butt, popcorn and Steve Austin cracking up makes the book almost worth it's price.

But my family could not stand wrestling until they read the book. Now they only watch it when they know that Foley/Mankind will be on. It's a great book (it's his book), and I think that even if you are not a wrestling fan, you will definately get a better look at wrestling.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Mick is My Hero Review: Mick Foley is an amazing performer and equally articulate. His memory is astounding especially considering the beating that his cranium has endured. As others have mentioned, his literary style is a very easy read and you really do feel as if you're sitting in his living room as he recounts his life stories. Mick's in-ring abilities are only outshined by his genuine humility and respect for the business and his co-workers. Congratulations on a great book and making the NY Times Best Seller list!

As one of the dozens and dozens of his fans, I was rewarded greatly by this humorous, honest, sometimes brutal, and always entertaining adventure called Mick Foley's life. It goes to show, not only should we worship the sock, but we should stand in awe of the brilliant mind behind it! Mrs. Foley should be proud!

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A tale of courage and inspiration Review: I bought this book on Thursday and read it by Sunday. I couldn't put it down. Mr. Foley has somehow turned the ordinary into the exraordinary. Anytime I get discouraged, I will remember this book and the tale of this brave man who gave everyting of his body for his family and his fans. I wish all wrestlers could be as self-sacrificing as Mr. Foley is. His stories engulf your mind and set the stage for ultimate understanding of the human mind and the human heart. I started this book as a non-Foley fan, went out and bought The Three Faces Of Foley, and bought a copy of the Japanse Death Macthes. Mick, one thing. Tell Terry Funk that we want to read his story too. May be you should help him.
