Summary: A look at Driver #8
Review: This book shows how driven Dale Jr. is. He shows how driven he is at each race. While some Rookies worry about making the race he is worried about a top 10 or better at each track. It is a look at his rookie year with a glimpes into last year. It is a great read for a Nascar fan.

Summary: A very good story
Review: I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It is not a great piece of literature that will become a classic. But it is a wonderful story about someone who has triumphed and experienced the greatest tradgedies. It is written so that it feels like you are having a conversation with the author. I am also glad that the author writes how he speaks. He is showing that our generation has a little bit of style and knows how to have fun while still being responsible. For any NASCAR fan this book is wonderful. For all of those out there who aren't, get this book anyway!

Summary: Insight on Lil E
Review: Great insight to who Jr. is as a person. Re-live the action of each race as well as behind the scenes info. Lil E could stand to clean up his language though. Not appropriate reading for those who don't want to hear the F-word.

Summary: This Book Was From An Interesting Perspective
Review: I purchased this book because I am a Huge Fan of Dale Jr. It wasn't totally what I had expected but I enjoyed getting the whole picture from his perspective. I saw how he was under alot of pressure from trying to be accepted by his peers on the Nascar Circuit, and most of all his father. He's only human like everyone else and of course at his age he's still single, and has fun partying.....that's no surprise. But nontheless, he is dedicated and I look forward to seeing him excell in racing!!

I liked the book, and maybe he'll put out another one in the later years to come to also document more of his maturity through the years as he keeps learning and going on with his career to bigger wins!

Summary: Incredible and Hilarious, in true Dale Jr. style
Review: Just a brief word to say how amazing this book is....and truly comical at times, you can see why Dale Jr. is going to be a star, his personality is truly unique.

Summary: GREAT book
Review: As a Dale Jr. fan I'd read anything he does but this is simply a well written piece of work. He may be a youngster in the sport but Dale Jr. can write with a maturity while still maintaining his youthfull sense of style and humor. Although those that don't follow races every week may not understand some things he talks about or find the summary of races a bit boring....NASCAR fans will enjoy getting a behind the scenes feel for what drivers and their crew go through week after week, be it the thrill of victory or the low points after a heartbreaking bad day. I especially loved Dale's honesty about the things he does off the track, like the appearances he makes, how he feels about them and the fun he has with friends at Club E. After reading this book I'd give anything to see Dale at Halloween as "Dirk Diggler".....what a hoot!!

DON'T get this book if you are looking for a "life story" about his childhood or a biography about Dale's life after losing his dad. Although he touches on it in the Epilogue, this is a book about Dale JR, not SR and as Jr says in the beginning, that book may be coming years down the road.

I'm proud to be a fan of one of NASCAR's rising stars and this book will make the upcoming 2002 season all the more enjoyable.

Summary: Dale Jr's Winston Cup Rookie Season in - 2000
Review: A forthright and revealing look into the life of one of NASCAR's hottest young drivers - chronicling his rookie season - complete with the thrill of victorys and the surprising role of misfortune in the high stakes game of stock car auto racing. Dale Jr's poignant retelling of episodes with his father and his racing team make for a good read. Even diehard fans who saw every Winston Cup race in 2000, will learn something about how it feels to be a part of the Budweiser team. Dale Jr writes like he drives, direct and to the front. His descriptions of the Bud team's struggle with difficult rides are as interetsing as the times when everthing clicks and the red #8 car drives like every hot rodder's dream. Dale Jr closes by briefly sharing his thoughts upon his father's untimily death, followed by Dale Jr's popular win in the Pepsi 400 (2001). This book is a great primer for the Dayton 500, [...]. Thanks for sharing your rookie year [...]. My only question now is when will Dale Jr being writing "The Big One" about Big E.

Summary: Overrated- Only for adult readers
Review: I bought this book on the previous reviews. However I was sadly disapointed. One needs to read this book with White-out in hand to cover all the profainity that is in the text. Also, As a fan of NASCAR, I do not think they are all Choir Boys, But JR. writes as much about parties and drinking as racing. Their sure is a lot more to life than Drinking, Partying and getting drunk.

Summary: Racing to the Top
Review: Dale Jr. and Jade have hit the nail on the head with this book. I feel it brings the reader to the point of actually being in the pits and the car during a race season. I found this book to be a very fast read, I couldn't put it down. Thank you Dale Jr and Jade for the well written book. Run for the Championship in 2002. Hope to see you at the head table in New York.

Summary: I couldnt put this book down!
Review: I just got this book today & already finished because I couldnt put it down. If you are a TRUE NAscar & Dale Jr. fan , this book is a must! He brings you back to his rookie season , in the Winston cup series,in such a way that he makes you feel like your in "good ole #8" right along with him.He not only tells you about the race & things that went wrong with his car but also tells you how he felt personally about each race. I always thought from seeing Jr.in interviews that he seemed like a normal down to earth great guy. Now I KNOW that he is. His personality Shines brightly throughtout this book!
