Summary: Amazing man, Amazing stories
Review: One of the best books I ever read. From cover to cover I greatly enjoyed Monty Roberts life story and his amazing way of starting horses. If you love horses, you will love this book. Even if you don't you will never look at a horse the same again.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Study the culture of those you want to work with.
Review: Monty Roberts wanted to successfully work with horses. So, he studied them in their environment, not in an artificial one created for them by humans. This is a rare opportunity, and becoming even rarer, in our over "developed" country. This is a book which should be required reading for all before graduating from high school. The themes of non-violence and learning about lifestyles and behavior patterns of others are basic to all life.

Summary: I absolutely loved this book and will be giving it as a gift
Review: Monty Roberts is a wonderful person and his book is fascinating from beginning to end. I hope this book will not only help more horse trainers to realize that humane communication with horses is a more effective way to train them, but will inspire Americans in general to help stop all forms of abuse and exploitation of animals in our country.

Summary: If horses read books, they'd give this one six stars!
Review: I am new to horses. My girlfriend, Tina, is a trainer and breeder. She practically forced me to read this book because we were going to see Monty do a "join-up" demo in Asbury Park, NJ. I read the book, with some initial reluctance, then I became hooked. It is well written, has very interesting content, and is not overly technical when it comes to horses. In short, non-horse people can read and enjoy this book. I absolutly loved it. If you plan on attending one of Monty's live demos, I highly recommend you read this book first. It will better help you to understand what he does and why. Monty Roberts is the real deal and his book is a testemony to the future of the horse and human partnership. Kudos to Monty Roberts! Well done!

Summary: A Touching, emotional journey of man and horses..
Review: From Montys brutal childhood to his learning from horses, this story keeps the book in your hands. you don't want to put it down. After I read it, I got the audio read by the author to hear the story in his own words. I learned a lot about people and horses.. I also saw Monty work with horses person. It was wonderful. What a great man...What a great book. very honest!

Summary: Monty Roberts saved my horse
Review: After reading this book, I began using his techniques on my horse who had been in a trailer accident and trusted nobody. One month later he now lets me ride him comfortably and trusts me. I couldnt have done it without the inspiring words of Monty Roberts.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Enlightening and intriguing. Something for all equestrians!
Review: Monty's life is an inspiration to all horse lovers. After all he went through, horses were still number one. It's amazing to see a man who would have to power to match strength with a horse, yet chooses to take a more "difficult" road and gain their trust first. I will re-read this book for years. I don't know what I did before it!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Wonderful, easy reading
Review: This was a wonderful book and very easy to read. How exciting it must be to truly communicate with other creatures in the way Mr. Roberts describes. Just think of the opportunities we have to study, respect, and nurture our relationships with all living creatures.

Summary: excellent
Review: We had the privelege of actually seeing Monty Roberts "in action" at his breathtakingly beautiful ranch about an hour or so from Santa Barbara two years running. This man IS the original horse-whisperer! Both he and his wife are charming, down to earth people who could not be more gracious if their lives depended on it.

I was most impressed by Mr. Roberts' thoughts on "teaching"--oh, how I wish that every teacher, present and future, could listen to this man!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Monty Roberts is a child psychologist as much as a horse psy
Review: When Roberts' humane methods are used in classrooms all over America, education will advance by light years. Drill and Kill will be no more. Producing students who come to us wanting to learn will parallel the horse who chooses to "join up," as it is termed in Roberts' methodology. What colleges of education really need is a Roberts method department head who will spread his sane approach to new teachers everywhere.
