Rating: Summary: Wrestling Fans Should Enjoy This Review: As a ring announcer & commentator for professional wrestling matches, I have first hand experience of what transpires "behind the scenes". Dwayne Johnson aka "The Rock" does a fine job of taking fans into this once highly secretive and restricted area. One complaint would be that the book is written in the Rock character at times. That aspect took from what could have been a captivating book. I, as well as millions of other people, find the Rock to be an incredibly entertaining personality, but the most interesting parts of this book are clearly when the author speaks freely as Dwayne Johnson. The Rock is all over TV, magazines, cds, and nearly everywhere we look. The man behind The Rock is what makes a biography intriguing. Dwayne Johnson surfaces on the pages for approximately 75% of this wrestling literary buffet. And he provides some great insight into his character and family history. Some great highlights are when Johnson tells how he prepares his fantastic promos (promos are when wrestlers talk on the microphone). He also provides a few of his favorites while giving in depth insight as to what the situation was that led to the promo and what state of mind he was in at the time. Dwayne Johnson shares his unique entry into the world of professional wrestling while explaining exactly how he constantly worked and improved in the WWF's farm wrestling league. Yes, the Rock literally wrestled in barns! The Rock comes from a bloodline that is undoubtedly legendary in wrestling, yet he has eclipsed all of their fame. This book will provide fans and outsiders to wrestling with enough of this electrifying entertainer's life story and family history to make it a very worthwhile read. I would have liked it to have been longer. It took me only 18 hours to read it from cover to cover, though I'm a quick read. Maybe when the Rock's schedule lightens, he will pen another book entirely on his own. I look forward to it.
Rating: Summary: Not half as good as Mankind's book. Too short, a rip-off. Review: Too many Rock fans seem to be prejudiced by their loyalty to the Rock in their reviews. Don't get me wrong I love the Rock, but after reading Mankind's book first, Rock's book was pretty awdul in comparison. 1) He did not write the thing, instead he got a freelance writer to "put his thoughts into writing". Folks-This is just not enjoyable to read, half of the time he is in his Rock character, the other half as Dwayne Johnson. 2) This book is way to short with way to many photos. After reading it I went back and judged that if you took out the pics and made the spacing and font the same size as Mick Foley's book you would have a 50 page autpbiography. Now I know that Dwayne Johnson is young, but I can write an autobiography longer than 50 pages, and my life has been boring! 3) The beauty of Mankind's book was that it was about other wrestler's as well. The Rock's book is a joke by comparision. Wait for the paperback to save the $, and then you'll agree with me on this. After Mankind's book met with success, the WWF will be pushing other books. I just hope that fans can be better judges before they write reviews that lead to people wasting $20 on jibberish.
Rating: Summary: This book makes the millions and millions proud.... Review: The book is awesome. Once I picked it up I could not put it down and that is something that hardly ever happens with me. By reading this book I learned more about my favorite wrestler, The Rock, as well as his family, his childhood, and about the industry of pro-wrestling. I recommend this book to any WWF fan or anyone that wants to learn more about Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock.
Rating: Summary: (no subject) Review: I havent read the whole book yet, but, judging by the parts I've read so far,the book is really good.It provides good detail on The Rock's life.If you're not sure about buying this book,Id have to reccomend that you do buy the book.
Rating: Summary: **The is the GREATEST book ever! ** Review: When I first started reading it, I never put the book down. You learn about his childhood all the way to how he became the people's champion. There are great photos through out the whole book of the great one from 6 months old to his wedding day. I was so surprised to see another side of The Rock I dont think I would ever have seen. If you are a WWF fan I recommend without a doubt,"The Rock Says"
Rating: Summary: Whoever gave this book 5 stars, Is a Rocky Mark! Review: No way is this book deserving of 5 stars. I am too a rocky fan. This book was ok at best. I felt it was way to short. He is writing his life's story and how old is he? 27. He just started life. He should have waited alittle longer. I gave foley's book 5 stars. I don't see how some of you people can give the rock's book 5 stars. It can't compared to foley's book at all. Buy the book if you are a Rocky mark, like some of you who gave it 5 stars.
Rating: Summary: The Greatest Book of All Time Review: This book is the greatest I've ever read. The Rock writes his book well. He talks about being born into wrestling, when he played football, and his career as a wrestler. This book is recommended to wrestling fans and non wrestling fans too. To wrestling fans because The Rock is the most electrifying man in sports entertainment today. And to non wrestling fans because it shows wrestling isn't the stereotype people think.

"if ya' smell what the Rock is cookin'"
Rating: Summary: This book was a bit of a Roody Poo Review: Don't get me wrong I love wrestling and I love the rock but I felt this book has been written way to early i the rocks carrer. The WWF are trying to get more moneyby getting fans to buy all the WWF biographys but the truth is half of the biographies they are going to briong out aren' going to be that good. THE ROCK SAYS.. was a major let down after Mankind: Have a Nice Day. The Rock is really to young and hasn't been in the sport long enough to have a really good impacting book. The section on Owen Hart was an extremely touching tribute which I found extremely hart warming. If you wanna buy it buy it but I suggest you wait a few years for the good edition to come out
Rating: Summary: A must buy for anyone! Review: Despite the earlier reviews written about this book, it is actually quite good! Though an underwriter wrote part of it, the book still relays a good story. There are many points of view from both Dwayne Johnson, and Dwayne Johnson as the Rock. Everyone is too busy comparing The Rock Says to Mick Foley's book, and just look at the little things. They don't realize that though the Rock is young, he has a history too. He suffered through college, and still came out on top. While Foley may have put in more hard work, the Rock's climb to the top was not based soley on his ancestry. This is a truly great story about the most electrifying man in sports entertainment history. If ya smell what the Rock is cookin'!
