Summary: An Insiders' View of an Insiders' View of Sailing's secrets
Review: As a professional yacht charter agent, I have travelled to many of the places in Harbors of Enchantment -- indeed, they are where we send our guests on a day to day basis. We not only know the harbours, but we know the authors of this delightful compendium, but were delighted to see it under the Christmas tree in 1990. It came not from a professional source, but from my brother -- and I am glad to have a copy, as it is out of print, and not easy to get. It is worth the effort to track down -- although there are more comprhensive information sources, and there are other coffee table books -- this one is unique, because of the viewpoints. Great for the armchair voyager, daydreamers, or a pleasant way to inspire yourself to get off out of your chair and back on the road. This is an insider's view of the some of most interesting ports in the world. Simple, straight-forward, and uncomplicated -- it is an enjoyable quick look at some special places, by people who know the World's harbour like you know your own neighborhood. Give it a try -- the cover shot of Italy's Portofino might be well-known to all -- but the title page's Antalya Turkey's lovely ancient circular Marina, if I do not miss my guess -- isn't -- nor are the glories of cruising that ancient Lycian coast!
