Summary: The Starsword: entertaining, challenging, subversive, fun!
Review: The Starsword, a new e-book by author RR Lawrence, is a great read. The action grabs you right from the opening chapter and continues to build straight through to the climax. The plot is well structured and exciting, with no plot-holes that I could find. And the characters are fantastic! Their interactions are genuine and compelling. Any reader who doesn't fall in love with Hulvan simply has no heart!

The best part of The Starsword is the very tight and well-thought-out mythology of Hulvan's world; a pantheon of Gods and Goddesses influences and manipulates Hulvan and his friends in the best Greek tradition. These are no stand-offish deities! Cross one and you will (if you're lucky) live to regret it. RR Lawrence has an excellent sense of humor, sometimes subtle, often based on keen insight into human folly, and what better playground for that than religion? Fair warning: this book might upset someone who doesn't have a sense of humor or an open mind - funny how often those two go together!

The Starsword is one of those great books that can be read on many different levels. I can't wait to read it again to see what I missed.

This book begs for a sequel, which I hope will not be long in coming.
