Summary: A fantasy book not easily put down, or forgotten
Review: "Avatara" is peopled with characters we would either like to be, or at least to know. Linda Chapman takes the reader to a world every bit as complex as our own, inserts us into scenes as masterfully written as possible and pulls us along on a stormy ride through a plot which leaves us wanting a sequel. If you suddenly find yourself still reading at one in the morning, you have nobody to blame but yourself --- and maybe Linda Chapman. After all, she's the one who kept you wanting to know what happens next.

Review: From the very start, Chapman captures the reader in mystery. What follows is masterful and complex unfolding of devotion, honor, and passion.

The sensuality of Goddess/Queen Valssina and Warlord Teolar is absolutely captivating from beginning to end. Chapman does a marvelous job of taking the reader along to discover what is, what might be, and what will never be known between these two enigmatic souls. I have read AvatarA three times now, and in each reading, I find some new insight into the workings of the heart and soul that enriches Champan's world and gives the characters greater depth.
