Review: Assassin's Apprentice
Let me say first that when I first started to read this book I was kind of reluctant because it at first seems like a novel that you would have to read for an English class in college. I like to read more romance novels and very rarely read fantasy fiction, but Hobb very quickly pulled me into her imagination. Although at the beginning of every chapter, her preludes, were kind of frustrating cuz they didn't always go with what was exactly happening... but they did help explain certain things that happened in the background that wasn't explained by the narrator Fitz, it also correlates with why certain things happen to him later.
Other than that, the book is well written and it's hard to put down! It's so easy to get caught up in Fitz's world and feel all he feels. You feel his confusion, his happiness and his sadness is very heart-wrenching. It was hard to not cry.
Royal Assassin
A very good book that continues straight from the end of Assassin's Apprentice. You are taken back into the world of Fitz as he discovers love and loyalty and who are true to him and who he must stay true to.
I was only disappointed in the ending until I realized there was one more book to this series. The end leaves you frustrated and wanting to know more.
