Summary: The most unique fantasy tale I've ever read
Review: After finishing The Meq, I am wanting nothing but more. the story of Z, Geaxi, Sailor, Opari and all the Meq had entranced me from the start. The only fantasy novel I've read that takes place on Earth, but much to my surprise, it works! I cannot wait until the second book! Get this book and read it many times!!!

Summary: Brilliant read
Review: Brilliant, rolling tale that was different, facinating and one of the best reads I have had for many, many years. Looking forward to the next installment from Steve Cash

Summary: A BRILLANT NOVEL
Review: From start to finish I could barely put this book down and when I did I found myself captured with thoughts and dreams woven from this book one of the best escapes I have had in a long time a fantasy emeshed in a real world that I can relate to I read this book in one week end and can not wait for another installment

Summary: Boring, Boring and more of the same
Review: I found this book extremly boring. It meandered from theme to theme almost without reason. I couldn't bring myself to really care about Z the main character at all, or for anyone else for that matter. The only reason I kept reading was to find out if it got any better... it didn't. Perhaps this is just not my type of book, it all seemed as the author was trying to fill out the novel with events that just didn't seem to mean anything. You can certainly tell that he is hoping to follow this novel with 2 or 3 more, which I won't be buying. I really think a much better story could've been written with a less is more approach. Why is it that everything has to be written as a trilogy or more? The trilogy only works if you actually have something meaningful to hold your audience with. Do yourself a favour and buy something else.

Summary: The Meq
Review: I read this book in a short time and I enjoyed every page. The story line of a race of child-people was unique and fresh, and the characters are interesting and memorable. "The Meq" is part one of a trilogy and I can't wait for book #2 to come out.

Summary: The MEQ entrances!
Review: Steve Cash's, "The MEQ" is the most amazing fantasy debut of the past two years. I lost myself in the novel. When I read Cash's biography, I was a bit prejudiced toward the novel, but decided to give it a chance. Surely, I thought, he can't be a popular singer/songwriter, and a talented author as well. My GOD, I was wrong! The story is enchanting, the prose elegant and flawless, his characters mesmerizing. This is the best contribution to the fantasy genre since China Mievelle's world of New Crobuzon. (China's still my favorite modern fantastist, but Cash is immensely gifted.) Cash's mastery of prose is humbling to those of us who labor at the craft of writing. His recreation of historical place, his rich allusions to things such as the cave of Plato, and the reinvention of the "Wandering Jew" and "Lost Tribe" legends--all are brilliant and seamless. The twin mythos is a nod to Poe's own philosophy of the Monad in his tale "The Colloquy of Monos and Una", which predated Carl Jung's expositions on the anima and animus. The greater "One" which is the fusion of the male and female halves of the same soul that exits in two bodies, is the foundation of perfect love. This is given a brilliant twist in Cash's novel. Brilliant and elegant. I hope this is the beginning of a long writing career for him.

Summary: Exciting, well written and engaging
Review: This is definitely a good Sci-fi book. Even if at times some irrelevant details comes up which may be boring, but they don't last long and soon another exiting section begins. It certainly keeps you wanting more.
