Rating: Summary: "Singing, and Then"...An outstanding first novel! Review: "Singing, and Then" explores the realms of the supernatural: Heaven, Hell, angels, demons and mortal men and women. The book starts out with the introduction of a very troubled young man, although fame and fortune has been bestowed upon him, he still has a spiritual longing, something is missing from his life. One night, while performing on stage, he is seized by a mysterious force and dies (for the second time). This, in and of itself, would have no earth shaking significance, except his soul seems to be the only one left in the universe. All the souls on Earth, as well as Heaven, mysteriously disappeared the day a new angel was born. Is this a coincidence? Is this new angel a force for good or a demon in disguise sent from Lucifer to reek havoc in Heaven? Ms. Pill skillfully weaves the reader through this intricate plot of love, hate and suspence to the ultimate climax. In the process of reading "Singing, and Then", I lost sight of the fact that the novel is a work of fantasy fiction and became completely engrossed in the characters. "Singing, and Then" is Nikki Pill's first published novel, but it won't be her last. I highly recommend this book.

Rating: Summary: Not Your Typical Book About Angels Review: I was really shocked by the way she portrayed the angels, but I liked it. Sometimes it's a little disconcerting the way she jumps from character to character. The writing is very experimental and interesting.
Rating: Summary: Subtle and stylish Review: Quite a interesting and refreshing style. It took a couple pages to get used to the format but once in I found it an intriguing means of portraying many view points at once. The mythos created was pleasantly different from the majority of angel literature and religious folklore but with a subtlty that reflects the maturity of the author and the research that went into this work.

Rating: Summary: Out there, but riveting Review: The author has taken the subject of angels and twisted it in a way that stretches your imagination in new, uncontemplated directions, answering the'what if..' with a razors edge. Hope there is more to come.
