Summary: Challenging and engrossing
Review: I like a book that (1) gets me involved and engrossed, and one that (2)challenges me to think. This book does both. It is rather amazing it was written when it was. Hubbard was way ahead of his time.

Summary: Keeps you interested
Review: I loved reading To the Stars. It made me think about space travel in a way I never had before. The characters are interesting and the book made me really appreciate how good we have it living here on Earth. It kept my interest throughout.

Summary: A classic
Review: I loved this novel so much that I read it twice when it recently came out in hardcover. The characterization, plot line, drama and writing style is the work of a master--it will really grab you.

Summary: A great book from a classic writer
Review: I read "To The Stars" some years ago and it still stays in my mind as one of the best Sci-Fi books I've read. I just enjoyed it and found it hard to put down and will be reading it again soon. Read it! You won't be disappointed.

Summary: Another winner from Hubbard
Review: L Ron Hubbard is an excellent SF writer and I have enjoyed his other stories - like Battlefield Earth. The book was awesome.

To the Stars, written 50 years ago, illustrates how innovative and forward thinking Hubbard was as an SF writer.

His ability to tell a story and bring his characters so vivdly to life is unsurpassed. I was immediately drawn into the dilemma of Alex Corday and the crew.

And the fact that he was one of the first to use the time/speed idea highlights his position as one of the greats of SF.

Summary: Dramatic and innovative science fiction
Review: Not since Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series (vol. 5), have I been so emotionally moved by a story. To the Stars is truly timeless, classic scifi, very original and amazing in it's depth and intensity of characters.

If you are a dedicated SF fan, I highly recommend this book and consider it recommended reading along with other greats such as Dune and Stranger in a Strange Land.

Summary: A Superb Read From L. Ron Hubbard
Review: Protagonist, Alan Corday, forcibly "recruited" by crew of the "Hound of Heaven", trans-galactic merchant ship. Their only problem - rapid lapses of time at the planets and ports they visit - all caused by time differential of their light-speed travels. Earth's governments and cultures rise and fall during the ship's high-speed runs.

The realities Hubbard presents will impinge deeply on readers. Who are we without our families, cities, language, the planet we know - all left behind in time?

I was filled with emotion and fully satisfied upon discovering the writer's classic conclusion - Man's purpose and basic nature. A real lesson in "True Groups" - nearly lost in today's world.

"To The Stars" is an exciting page-turner for thinking people who want more meaning from existence.

Summary: Ahead of its Time
Review: Science Fiction is not my typical reading genre but I was interested in the problem posed by the book about space travel as it nears the speed of light. I was very pleasantly surprised by the depth of the story and how fascinated I was with Alan Corday's increasingly difficult situation. Mr. Hubbard has a unique way of making the characters more important than the science fiction. I really loved reading this book and have recommended it to several people. I'd love to see a movie based on this. I'd also to comment that this story was written over 50 years go and must be one of the first if not the first to use the time dilation problem in a story.

Summary: Hubbard takes you to the stars
Review: The characters are REAL, the scientific theory is factual and the drama is intense. I have been a sci fi and fantasy fan all of my life and this book is one of the most well written stories I've ever read. If you haven't read this book before, don't wait!!!! It's in the stores now. You won't be sorry.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: One of the best I have read
Review: This book took me on a journey to places I have never been and introduced me to colorful characters I which I could only hope to meet.
If you like adventure, if you like Sci Fi with a real science backbone and if love not being able to predict the end of a story, you will love this one.
Enjoy!
