Summary: Close but no cigar.
Review: Weis and Hickman fail to fix the world of Krynn that was totally screwed up in their own Dragons of Summer Flame and numerous other forgettable books written by...authors riding on Weis/Hickman coattails. An optimist may finish this book and say "Well, it's half-fixed", but I prefer to consider it "still broken". I won't drop any spoilers but lets just say, Weis and Hickman leave more than enough dangling plot lines to enable Wizards of the Coast to flood the market with more Dragonlance books written by the above mentioned...authors such as Jean Rabe. So, if its quantity over quality you want, your world is gonna be a whole lot brighter soon. However, if you yearn for well written, satisfying stories such as the DL Chronicles, DL Legends, & the Legend of Huma, your hunger will go unsated. I hope Wizards of the Coast proves me wrong. We shall see.

Summary: The climax that ended the reign of the One God.
Review: Well, I was kicking myself for not figuring out earlier in the series that the evil Queen Takhisis was actually the very One God. I found myself thinking that it was Chaos, father of the gods. What an imbecile I was, should have seen it coming while reading the series! The series and the climax was one that left me bitter, because of the death of my favorite Krynn dragon Skie, a.k.a. Khellendros. On another note I was glad to see the downfall of Malys, that great evil red monstrosity, as well as the other dragon overlords.

The story was truly worth reading, a climax that one wouldn't dream of being the end result, kept me a little in suspense, and was all in all a joy to read. This is must read material for all Dragonlance fans. Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman have pulled it off again.

Summary: Square Wheels Work!
Review: What Weis and Hickman had done is like re-enventing the wheel: The same principle, although not as good, and you find yourself asking "why?".

These two marvelous authros had taken their 'Chronicles' and 'Legends' round wheels off their Dragonlance wagon, and replaced them with square ones. Surprisingly, they're working. True, the ride isn't as smooth and fun, and it's sometimes bumpy, but it's moving. What makes this series a good ride is especially the amazing tallent of story-telling that the authors have. The cahrectres are good, but not as good as the original Dragonlance heroes. The plot is nice, but I prefer the Chronicles, and I liked the old Krynn better.

I enjoyed this series, I really did. I read it without a break between the books, and I've read in any possible moment, just like the old Weis and Hickman books. I laughed, I was sad and I felt good and bad with and for the characters, like in any other W&H book. However, as fun as it was, it's not as good as the originals. I'm taking these wheels off my wagon and return to my old, round, favorite ones.
