Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Moses Wine saga in our time
Review: I have been following Roger L. Simon since the publication of THE BIG FIX in the Seventies when his character was the well-known hippie detective played by Dreyfuss in the movie. That was fun, but this book, written in the late Nineties, is much deeper, finer. The late Ross MacDonald said Simon would be the next great PI writer and his was right.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Brilliant, better than the author's The Big Fix
Review: I think this is the best Moses Wine novel.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: creme de la creme of recent mystery crop
Review: no gimmickry herre--just good characterization and the best voice in private eyes since Parker...

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: awful
Review: This book is awful.

I'm assuming the other reviewers have written positive things because they agree with Mr. Simon's political views.

This book should come with the following warning: May cause drowsiness.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Heartfelt mystery
Review: This is a complex and deeply felt tale that uses the mystery form brilliantly. I am great fan of Simon's books.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Moses Wine for a new era
Review: This may be the best book in a superb series.
