Rating: Summary: You or your child will be happy with this book Review: Another Fine Myth is a fun book to read for your child. If you have someone in your life that is about at the age where they might pick up Harry Potter or if they are looking for something akin to it, this is a good direction to turn. I feel that Asprin modeled these books on the old Hope and Crosby `Road' flicks. The banter between Skeeve and Aahz (the two main characters) is quite enjoyable. The worlds that Asprin creates are also very imaginative and fun to encounter.
This is quite an engrossing book and wont tire you no matter what your age as long as you have a sense of humor and a bit of wonder left in your heart.
Other series' in line with this would be the `Stainless Steel Rat' by Harry Harrison, and the `Xanth series' by Piers Anthony
Rating: Summary: The Beginning of a Beautiful Series? Review: Another Fine Myth is the beginning of Robert Asprin's Myth series, one of the best (and THE most hilarious) fantasy series of all time. This introduces us to the characters that make the series so wonderful. Some of the characters areSkeeve: The apprentice to a washed out, burned out magician. When that magician is killed, Skeeve has to find a way to save his own life and find justice for his mentor. Aahz: a Pervert, (oops make that Pervect), a demon rendered powerless by a practical joke gone awry. Tanda: A beautiful, voluptuous green haired assassin with a firey temper and wicked sense of humor. And Gleep: A loveable but dumb baby dragon. This book is ideal not only for fans of fantasy but for humor fans as well. I picked it up and could not put it down. I also couldn't stop laughing! Don't just buy one, buy one for your friend! It's that good!

Rating: Summary: Start Here and discover a series you will cherish Review: I am reading this series through once again. I can say, without exaggeration, that this is probably close to the twentieth time I am rereading the series. The books of the MYTH series are my favorite books in a unique way. They are a great comfort and a familiar friend in this scary, uncertain world. Whenever I find that I do not have enough to laugh about, I can read about the misadventures of Aahz and Skeeve and count on having a good, whole-hearted chuckle. Another Fine Myth and the other books of this series are exactly what I look for in my reading material: stories that will refresh my spirit.
Rating: Summary: It is indeed a Fine Myth Review: I love Robert Asprin books and this series was my introduction to his works. Skeeve is a poor under trained student of a seemingly crazy magician. Though a series of crazy events he hooks up with a dimension traveler (or demon for short). The two set off together to stop an old enemy with the help of a scantily clad assassin. My impression-This book(and the 5 after it) are wonderful. You can have smart books, good books and funny books. But it is as rare as a Blue Moon to come across a series of books that is all three
Rating: Summary: Don't buy this book!, at lest not this version. Review: New editions not available on Amazon (at the time of this review) are out at most book stores. Instead of one book for $6.99, two consecutive book are included in each volume for $7.99. These are available for all of the books except the two newest (of course they were the only in the series I had to buy). But I figured the rest of you may as well not repeat my purchasing mistake.
Rating: Summary: A fine series begins Review: Perfect for when you're sick of the typical and dreadfully pompous heroic fantasy that abounds today, Robert Asprin's Myth series is a tongue-in-cheek account of an apprentice magician's various misadventures and colourful friends and foes. Although I personally do not find it laugh-aloud funny (in the style, for instance, of Douglas Adams) there's plenty of sly jokes and double entendres hidden in the text, as well as some truly brilliant parodies of typical fantasy characters. And, interestingly for a humourous series, Robert Asprin takes the time to deliver some insight and warmth into the characters and their relationships, although less so in the earlier books. Robert Asprin is clearly a fan of Fritz Leiber, and Aahz and Skeeve do not disgrace their illustrious ancestors; Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser
Rating: Summary: Pun Reading for All Review: Robert Asprin weaves a wonderfully fine mix of Humor, Fantasy and Good, Old-Fashioned Satire into a tapestry delightful to behold over and over again. Puns in the Chapter Headings and throughout the story itself put this as well as the rest of the series right into the same catagory as some of Spider Robinson's and Rick Cook's work. Character development is sweetly and smoothly paced throughout. Action is timed perfectly. Groans and grunts (from the Reader) are continous. WARNING: DO NOT LEND THIS ONE OUT TO YOUR FRIENDS !!!! You'll never get it back.
Rating: Summary: Hilarious Fantasy Novel Review: Robert Asprin writes a fall-down laughing (I literally did) story brought to spectacular life by Jeff Woodman. Need a laugh? Read or listen to this novel!
Rating: Summary: I wish I could write a book as entertaining as this one! Review: Skeeve, a magician's apprentice. Aahz, a green scaly Prevect from the dimension of Perv. Gleep, Skeeve's pet dragon. Tananda, a green haired, shapely assassin. These are just a few of the characters you'll fall in love with just from reading this first book in the Myth series. Follow the adventures of Skeeve as he meets and becomes the apprentice of Aahz and accidently aquires Gleep at the bazaar on Deva. Be enthralled by following the characters from Skeeve's home dimension of Klah to the bazaar on Deva and back to rescue the world from the evil wizard, Isstvan. The story is enchanting, the dialog is hilarious, and the characters are, well, many dimensional. If I were to write a book, I hope it would be as entertaining as this one
