Rating: Summary: New perspective of the classic tale Review: I am a Star Wars fan, like most everyone else in my generation. If you are like me, having lived and breathed Star Wars at one time or another during your life, you really owe it to yourself to listen to the Star Wars Radio Drama casettes, available from Amazon. Click here, here and here to link to the casette versions, although I found a boxed set of CDs from Amazon that really kicked. These audio versions are terrific, offering tons of material not in the movies, background on all characters, great acting by Anthony Danielt and Mark Hamil, great audio and sound effects, and much more. Recommended to all Gen X'ers. END
Rating: Summary: Daley Offers Additional Hope Review: I really enjoyed the radio dramatizations of the classic Star Wars trilogy, produced for National Public Radio, and adapted by Brian Daley. In fact, I was so impressed with all three of these programs, that I also bought the scripts for them in book form. It is quite clear that Daley had a deep understanding and appreciation for the "characters and situations created by George Lucas". For each production, Daley added a whole other layer to the story, by expanding and or adding scenes, that were not part of the film. Daley also penned a thoughtfully written introduction that takes you behind the scenes and talks about the history of the production. The book also includes dozens of black and white sketch photos. Sadly, Mr. Daley passed away, shortly after the radio production of Jedi wrapped in '96. Even if you already own the Highbridge audio adaptation of A New Hope, the 346 page book is a recommened for fans of the original adventures...
