Rating: Summary: Dragonball Z: The Anime Adventure Game Review: DragonBall Z is no doubt, the "BEST JAPANIMATION EVER CREATED"
Rating: Summary: A review of the actual book/game Review: I figure this game deserves a review and not fanmail so here goes... This is the Dragonball Z RPG using the Fuzion Powered RPG system. A decent system for fast paced game play. If you are a DBZ fan, it is easy to see that this set of rules is well suited for DBZ high powered play, the only real drawback being the multitudes of dice you have to role for damage, (this can be easily solved though). The Fuzion mechanics work well for combat and because of the inherent powerlevel and energy attack/deflection system, the rules add a remarkable complexity for subtle tactics and strategy that is rarely seen in tabletop RPG's (This is a huge plus for DBZ fans). The true joy of this book is the source material for DBZ fans themselves, much of the extra information is not easily available for most of the American audience. It is true that some details were changed to help game play mechanics, all but the most diehard fans of DBZ shouldn't gripe too much. (I'm a diehard DBZ fan, and the game grew on me). All in all a success and as the book says... "Krillin could hand Superman his booty in a sack and not even break a sweat." now that's power.
Rating: Summary: Dragon Ball Z:Anime Adventure Game Review: I personaly like the book.It has the most oraginal and ostanding ideas i have ever seen. The book is good for all Dragon Ball Z/Gt fans.(I woulden't recommened it to new comers though)You have to get into the book and know at least part of the story line. When the book arrived i was over joyed and started reading it right away.If you have qusetions about the book contact me at THESUBLAW2@aol.com.The book is somewhat hard to get a hold of.You can get it here,Barens and noble or Comic Heven.I hope this helps you if not just e-mail me and i will try to help.
Rating: Summary: I think that anything that's DBZ related is cool. Review: I think that anything that's DBZ related is cool
Rating: Summary: Great game, but takes a while to learn Review: The game is great, but you will have to read the instructions 3 or 4 times to fully memorize the rules the authors are geniouses and I cant wait for the freeza saga.DBZ fans will be amazed while RPG fans will have loads of fun.
Rating: Summary: Fun, but many errors Review: The overall idea of a DBZ RPG is good, and the system posited here works pretty well. However, the rules listed in this book are full of contradictions and many things are left unexplained. Currently, the book is most useful as a reference to the English version of DBZ as it gives info on all the characters (major and minor) in the Saiyan Saga (which is before trip to Namek). The game itself needs some work, so don't buy this if you expect to learn it quickly. Your best bet is to wait for the Frieza Saga book coming out soon, which hopefully will have rules errata for the main game (or maybe rewrite the whole thing).
Rating: Summary: A Great Game but... Review: They lacked in a few areas. I understood everything in the first read. I have found that over all, this is a near-perfect game... therefore I gave it a near-perfect score.Thankfully they made some revisions in the Frieza Saga book. I can't wait for the Trunks book to be out (Supposedly last week of September).
Rating: Summary: Almost perfect but lacking some crucial thought Review: This book has the some of the best ideas and concepts from the hit TV show Dragonball Z. However, the procedures for gaining experience points and spending them on your character to make him better is not well thought out. Skills, Hit Points, and Power all cost the same amount of experience to increase, and the book doesn't give a cost for increasing other attributes of the character at all. This game also uses the watered down version (Instant Fuzion) of a generic system (Complete Fuzion) and so experienced role-players will want to download the pdf file that contains the complete fuzion rules since the Instant Fuzion is fast, but so unrealistic that it detracts even from the Dragonball Z universe.
