Summary: The bleak potential of cloning experiments...
Review: Amy knows that Chris was always a mystery to her, with a shadowy past. She never would have imagined what she would be getting into when she becomes involved in Chris's past when his father finally shows up after so many years. He needs a bone marrow transplant, and his son is the perfect match. Amy suspects that something's going on, but her mother tells her that she has to give Chris's dad a chance at starting over a broken life. And when the infamous Grace Morrison returns, Amy isn't sure if the scientist has changed that much since their last encounter. But as Amy learns more of a hideous plot being made that could affect the entire world, suddenly, she begins to wonder if she and the other Amy's are the only clones in the world. Replica #20: Like Father, Like Son is in my opinion one of the best of the Replica series, and it is a very important book. The mystery deepens, and it's a powerful book in the series.

Summary: Another thrilling new book in the Replica series.
Review: Amy's new boyfriend, Chris Skinner, can't even remember his father, who abandoned Chris and his mom when Chris was just a baby. Now, fourteen years later, Paul Skinner has returned. He claims to have reformed, and asks for a second chance at being a father. Chris is naturally reluctant to give him a chance, but Mr. Skinner really seems to want to start over again. But when he announces that he is seriously ill, and needs a bone marrow transplant, Amy suspects he has ulterior motives. After all, Mr. Skinner has a rare blood type, and as his son, Chris could be the perfect match. When Grace Morrison, one person Amy never wanted to see again, reappears, she seems genuinely disturbed by a recent organ transplant, in which dying criminal Ace Tolliver was saved by the heart of his son, a college student who died in a tragic car accident. Amy is determined to get to the bottom of this mystery, and there may be even more lives at stake. I highly recommend this latest addition to the Replica series.

Summary: I'm concerned
Review: Hi, this is Marilyn Kaye, the author of the Replica series. I read the reviews written by Anna and charmedslayer, and they've given me a lot to think about. I don't want to disappoint my readers. I promise to take a long hard look at the series, and think about the directions it's taking. ... .

Summary: Replica series is going downhill fast
Review: I agree with charmedslayer's review: Replica is definitely going downhill. The thing that made the Replica books stand out and put them at the top of their game was that in the earlier books, the fantasy element was done so well that it was actually believable. Marilyn Kaye is obviously a very talented author. In the first few books, what she did so well was that she managed to capture the more subtle details of being a middle-school student and interweave them with fantasy and that was quite believable. Then she suddenly takes a 180-degree turn and tries to go for all-out fantasy. The thing that bothers me the most is that she keeps switching back and forth between the genres. But the more far out the storyline gets, the worse her writing gets. Does Kaye really think that her target age demographic isn't smart enough to see that she doesn't know what she's doing anymore, or is she just running out of plots? Ms. Kaye, even 9-12 year olds generally can see it when a series is losing this much focus.

Summary: Dont agree
Review: I do not a agree with those other 2 reveiws. I loved this book! Chris is one of my favorite characters. The way the author made amy describe him was great. So, those 2 wernt completly right. It was cool as the mystery of the clones thicken. There are alot more than you think. It makes you wonder what Marilyn has up her sleeve.

Summary: Another Great Replica Book!
Review: I thought this one was pretty good, but not the best, which is why I only gave it 4 stars. Anyways, I really like Chris--I think he's way better than Eric and Andy and from the picture on the cover, he's hotter too. But now onto the book.

In this book, Chris's dad, who abandoned him when he was young, comes back because he needs to have surgery. Chris needs to donate bone marrow in order for his dad to have the operation. Amy soon learns that Chris's dad made a clone of himself so he could have spare parts in case something went wrong with his body. Chris is the clone. This book will have you on the edge of your seat!

As for you, "A Reader From NJ" (whose review is dated January 10, 2002) I completely disagree. Oh, and you should read book #21. You'll be happy at what happens to Chris.

Summary: Another but not as great book
Review: Replica has always been a good books, but they r starting to not be as good anymore. Chris,Amy's boyfriend, dad comes to town. He hasn't seen him 4 like 4ever. Amy starting 2 become parinoid. She is thinking almost every1 that looks like thier parents r clones and they were made as spare parts 4 the parent. I like wierd books i really do but this is starting to get almost out of hand wierd. Amy is thinking too many peeps r clones and they really do turn out to be. Marilyn Kaye's beginning replica books were just alot better. Amy is getting to worn of a char. I mean i looked at the future books and they r gonna have aliens in it. I mean when u get down to your char is going to meet aliens then it's time to stop the series of books. I also think that Marilyn Kaye needs to get her replica books to grow with Amy so she can keep her readers. I mean i have been reading replica since book 1 was published and theese books r getting to small 4 me. When amy turns her next age (i think that should be 14) she needs her books to be long and vocabulary wise 4 the the 14 year old audienes.

Summary: Alright
Review: The message displayed in this book was ok. I personally am not to happy that Chris is even still around. However, I enjoyed this book. I'd say that this book was 3 of 5 because it was fairly crafted. The plot was straightfoward. Those are good, however, the surprise was obvious and the message and general objective of this book was not so hot. Defenatly a read for all replica fans. For others read replicas 1-19 before and for browsers don't even try this book

Summary: Great!
Review: This book was great! It was sort of confusing at times, but it evened out in the end and everything made sense. Amy's new boyfriend has always been a mystery to her. But when Chris' father comes back in the picute and needs a bone marrow transplant, Amy is suspicious. Great addition to the Replica series and a must for any reader!

Summary: Worn Out
Review: This series is worn out; there are no more fresh ideas. It was fun while it lasted but it's time to close the door on Replica.
