Rating: Summary: The only hope is a horrible sacrifice..... Review: Ax and the other Animorphs have faced too many risks lately. Ever since they have had to retreat from their ordinary human lives, the war has completely changed. Jake's hope as well as the other Animorphs' have been torn apart, and nothing is at seems anymore. Now the Yeerks are intensifying their once subtle tactics, and they're forcibly making humans submit and be sent down into the subways to the Yeerk Pool. Ax and the others need to match tactics with the Yeerks. Their hopes are low, but if the Yeerks are getting drastic, so must the Animorphs -- if they want to survive, they must. But now they are facing a horrifying decision. They are facing a decision that will forever change the war. They are planning to destroy the Yeerk Pool, resulting in the deaths of thousands of human lives. The choice is a deadly one. Can Ax and the others justify such terrrible actions -- and face the horrible consequence? Now that the fight has changed, and every hope has been shattered from the terrifying revelations to the broken bonds, it may be time to face a new approach -- though it is frighteningly uncertain. Animorphs #52: The Sacrifice is one of the most exciting and dramatically involving books in the Animorphs series that is nearly over with just two more books left. Emotional, intense, and exciting, this was one of the most heart pounding books in the series. With only those two final books left, #52: The Sacrifice is an extremely worthwhileand delivering read. K.A. Applegate soared into new heights with this amazing addition to the Animorphs series.
Rating: Summary: The Sacrifice....one of the best Review: Ax's books have just kept on improving. This book was so much better then the previous one in the series, 'The Absolute.' at last there was a book with few battles and more time for people's characters to come out. This book followed on well from the last Ax book, with Ax still wondering where he stands with the Animorphs and what path he should choose to follow. At first it seems like he is going to go with the Andalites, but his views change throughout the book. There were some intresting views on Cassie and Rachel in this book. Tobias also seemed to be back in character. He has been a little off in previous books. This book is extremely powerful and moving. You could see how hard the choice was to make, but I thought their decision was the right one, in the end. None of the Animorphs were unlikeable in this book by the end. One of the best in the series, surprising for one of the last books. I hope the last one is this good.
Rating: Summary: One of the best ever! Review: Even now, nearly one year since the dramatic end to this stunning series, I can still remember this book. I haven't touched it since then, but the story, the action, the ending have all stuck in my mind. The most amazing thing about these books is that as they get older they get more mature. Less emphasis on stupid morality, more emphasis on kill or be killed. In this book, one of the last ones, the yeerks have stopped ...footing around and started mass infestation, via a possessed National Guard group, and a new subway system that leeds right to the Yeerk Pool. The Animorphs know they must finally destroy the pool. So, they break into a normal National Guard base, convince the troops about the invasion, and take several thousand-pound bombs with them. They then comandeer a subway train, load the bombs into it, and head for the pool. They slam into it, escape(after freeing most of the people), and the bombs detonate, destroying half of the city. After that, the Yeerk Mother Ship descends from the sky, and you know that the final battle has just begun. It is a slightly disturbing, upsetting book, but if you've ever wanted an excuse to read Animorphs, this is it! In closing, I'd like to say that this series is one of the best of all time. Even today, one year from its end, the books are still on bookshelves. So, if you'd like a great sci-fi series, with humor, action, maturity, drama, and great characters, then I can recommend no better one. Animorphs has done to sci-fi books, what Harry Potter did to fantasy books: It took a dying subject and revitalized it. Animorphs 52, The Sacrifice is a plain example of this.
Rating: Summary: Great Review: In this book, humans are being rounded up and boarding subways at gunpoint. There is no doubt that the subways lead to the Yeerk pool, and the Animorphs are considering blowing up the Yeerk pool. Will they blow it up, or will they not? read the book to find out!
Rating: Summary: Finally! Review: My son wrote the following mini-review: In this installment, the National Guard teams up with the Animorphs to help the heroes defeat the Yeerks. They are successful in destroying another Yeerk pool, wiping out millions of the foul parasites. In The Sacrifice, Cassie finally admits to everybody that she is responsible for letting the Yeerks escape with the "blue box" (or "morphing cube" -- see The Ultimate), causing Ax to hate and distrust her. With only two more installments remaining in the series, K.A. Applegate begins to set the stage for the death of one of the six key characters. Will it be Tobias, Rachel, Cassie, Jake, Marco, or Ax?
Rating: Summary: Ax has a secret¿ Review: The Yeerks are loading people into trains that will lead them straight to an underground Yeerk pool for infestation. The Animorphs decide that there is only one way to stand a chance against the Yeerks: they have to blow up the Yeerk pool. But if they blow up the Yeerk pool then they will also destroy the innocent people held hostage. This isn't their only problem, the Animorphs still aren't working as a team and after Cassie tells the truth about what happened to the blue box, Ax isn't sure if the human race is really worth saving. So now the Animorphs have to decide if they should sacrifice the people trapped in the Yeerk pool in order to save the world and Ax has to decide if he should sacrifice Earth in order to save the galaxy. This book was really good. Everyone reacted to the decision exactly how I thought they would, which is good because it means that I understand the characters I have been reading about for almost five years now. Kim Morris has once again done a great job.
Rating: Summary: Will attract any ex-Animorphs fan! Review: This book had perhaps the biggest philosophical question in Animorphs history. It was reminiscent of Dr. Strangelove: can you justify killing dozens of helpless people if it was to save the planet? It was really a page turner, just like all the Animorphs books, and I would definitely recommend it.
Rating: Summary: A great book. Review: This book is SO great, I loved it. The emotional turmoil Ax faces is very realistic and it digs deep into his mind. The emotions he shows are natural for anyone who would be stuck in his position, and the ghoster handled them well.
