Summary: GREAT BOOK!!!!!!!!!
Review: In the second adventure of the Animorphs, the kids decide that they must know more about the Yeerks and the invasion. So, Rachel, the person who tells this story, decides to morph an old friends cat, known as Fluffer McKitty. The friend: Melissa Chapman, daughter of Vice-Principal Chapman who is a high ranking Yeerk. The plan goes okay, and Rachel finds a holographic generator in the Chapman's basement that the parents use to communicate with Visser 3. But, Visser 3 notices Rachel and orders Chapman to kill her just to be safe. However, Chapman convinces him against this since it would upset Melissa. Aparently, the reason her parents are voluntary controllers is because they made a deal so that she wouldn't have to be. Anyway, Rachel leaves and, like an idiot, doesn't tell the others that V3 is suspicious. She returns the next evening to spy on the hologram, is found out, and is captured. She is brought to the Blade Ship which has landed in a construction site and is about to be handed over when the Animorphs rescue her by turning several earth-movers loose on the Blade Ship and the Bug Fighters that accompany it. V3 decides he would rather keep his precious Blade Ship than kil some 'Andalite Bandits,' so they make a trade. They even manage to destroy a Bug Fighter during the rescue.
The story is good, the action is okay, and the characters are slowly coming along in this, the second of the 54 Animorphs Books, 4 Megamorphs, and 4 Chronicles.

Summary: This book is the best I've read in a long time.
Review: In The Vistor Rachel is the narator. She tells about her adventures as an Animorph. In the first Chapter or so everything is kinda slow (I don't want to say boring but). After that everything really gets action packed. They want to spy on Mr.Chapman (the assistant principal at the school all the Animorphs go to except Tobias who got stuck in a morph as a hawk because he stayed in morph for too long). They know that Chapman is a big part in the Yeerks plan to take over the world. Chapman has a daughter named Melissa. She has a cat named Fluffer Mckitty. To get into Chapmans house Rachel has to become Fluffer. It is hard to catch Fluffer because he is a tomcat (A male cat). When they find him he gets scared and runs up a tree. To get Fluffer down Rachel has to become a shrew. Finally they get Fluffer down. After they acquire Fluffer's DNA.The next night they all went to Chapmans house. Rachel was the last one to arrive. She was already Fluffer. There was a kitty door going into the Chapman's house. When Rachel gets to the living room, Chapman is just sitting there. He walks to the basement and Rachel follows. Chapman turns on a machine and a Hologram of Visser Three appears. Visser Three is the Yeerk King. Chapman doesn't mind that the cat is there. When Visser Three notices the cat, he tells Chapman to kill it because it could be an Andalite Warrior. Rachel returns to visit Chapman again while he is talking to Visser Three. Rachel tries to hide, but Chapman finds her and catches her. He takes her to a construction site that is unfinished. Visser Three comes down in person. He puts Rachel in one of the space ships. Will this be the end of Rachel? I guess you will have to read the book to find out what happens next

Summary: The invasion continues; Rachel reaches out to help a friend
Review: In this second installment of the bestselling ANIMORPHS series, the five teenagers who were given the power to morph into any animal they touch continue to battle the evil Yeerks. But the invasion gets personal for Rachel when she discovers that it has emotionally hurt one of her old friends, whose parents have both become Controllers, tools of the Yeerk invasion. The series continues in the third novel, "The Encounter." Like the others in the series, "The Visitor" can be read and enjoyed without having read the previous books.

Summary: Nine lives are better than one...
Review: Rachel is beginning to notice something strange about her old friend, Melissa. And that's bad because Melissa is the daughter of Principal Chapman who has been invaded by a Yeerk. So Rachel comes up with the perfect plan. Morph into Melissa's cat, Fluffer McKitty, to spy on what's going on. But the plan starts to go bad when Principal Chapman discovers that Rachel isn't really Fluffer McKitty. Will this be the end for Rachel?

I love the Animorphs books, but I just wasn't feeling this one. It seemed like a good one, although it just ended up being an average one. I really couldn't figure out what to feel about this book. Some parts were funny, some parts tried to be funny, but weren't, and some parts were sad. So overall, this was just an okay Animorphs book but far from one of the best.

Summary: Chapman.................
Review: Rachel used to be best friends with Melissa Chapman, but now being an Animorph kinda takes up most of her time,so she's hardly seen Melissa at all...But recently at Gymnastics Rachel sees her and tries to talk to her,but Melissa just not the same, she seems to always be thinking about something else...Then rachel begins to wonder,Could melissa be a controller???Rachel has got to know,I mean what are friends for right? But when she tells the Other Animorphs that she would like to investigate Melissa all they care about is that it would be an opportunity to spy on Chapman, who is a known Controller...But Rachel doesn't know what to do ,I mean, this is her best friend should she spy on her and her family?Later Rachel learns the sad story of why chapman became a controller, and how much Melissa means to him.............
I loved this book,it's exciting, cool, funny, and a little sad...I think if you ejoy the Animorphs you will love this book,it's worth every penny.

Summary: Nine lives are better than one...
Review: The Animorphs know their school assistant principal, Mr. Chapman, is a Controller. To know what the Yeerks are going to do next, the Animorphs need a way to spy on Mr. Chapman. Then Rachel remembers that Mr. Chapman's daughter, Melissa, has a cat named Fluffer McKitty. Rachel decides to morph into the cat so she'll be able to spy on the Chapmans and nobody would get suspicious.

Rachel's plan goes perfectly, and she discovers some things like Chpaman talks to Visser Three as a hologram. But when Rachel tries her plan a second time, things don't go as easy. Visser Three is able to figure out that the cat he sees isn't really a cat--he thinks she's an "Andalite bandit." But no matter what Visser Three thinks she is, he plans to make her face doom.

THE VISITOR is an great Animorphs book, but it's a bit of a disappoitment after reading the first book which was wonderful. It seemed like K.A. Applegate only wrote this book so people would read it and then decide to start reading the other Animorphs books. Despite that, this book is a nice short read but not a must-read for an Animorphs fan.

Review: The general plot of the story is already outlined, so I'm adding some thoughts from another quadrant - one parents can check into if they wish. This book stresses some points about family and friendship, while proving Ms. Applegate certainly knows her cats! Rachel is faced with some very tough choices which come to roost with her, personally. Could her best friend be a Controller? If she is or is not, how ethical is it to spy on your friend's home life, even use her to get information because you know her father is a host for a very important Yerk? The story is, as always, a fast paced read which weaves a tragic thread through the real horror of what the Animorphs are fighting for. Seeing her best friend suddenly alienated by her own parents -- the people who should love her the most and without question -- shows a hard and horrible impact on the main character's friend. In that vein, the story also stresses how much the parents do love their child, and the extreme lengths they will go through to protect their daughter. We begin to see the real horror of the invasion here, and an up close, personal insight to how it touches Rachel. As always, the book also has various morphs in it which give insight to shrews (I didn't know the shrew diet until I read this one), and the common household tom cat. As a former vet employee, I can agree with Cassie that pound for pound, a cat can be the most gentle and loving pet imaginable, but can also be a fickle chipper-shredder if provoked or frightened. You get even more insight to the imagination and speculations of what scientists, researchers, and owners believe their cat to think, see, and feel.
