Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Wow!
Review: Definetly one of the better Animorph books!!! This book is so increadible, I couldn't put it down!!! I loved K.A.'s desriptions of pain and pleasure, thy were flawless. K.A. is an absolute genius, and there were some parts in the book where I seriously thought she was insane!!! She has such a unique talent to make Tobias's emotions so vivid. Whenb I was reading this, I was in my room screaming and pounding my pillow like a madwoman!!! LOL everyone should read this book. K.A. and Animorphs rock, they are the coolest!!! Tobias is the neatest Animorph too, he has such a cool past!!! Well I guess thats it except read this amazingly breathtaking book!!!

Summary: Best Animorphs Book I've Read!
Review: Hey, if I could rate this book seven stars, I would. Seriously. Tobias is my most favorite character, and I like how KA or whoever added parts of Tobias's life before the Animorphs. Sometimes, the Animorph books get a bit, er, BLAH because it just goes on and on about BAM, TSEERR, KABLOOM, and all that battle stuff. This book was so much better! I, for some weird and unexplainable reason, can't stand Jake and Cassie against Tobias and Rachel as "Best Couple". I've been wondering, has Jake and Cassie ever kissed? I don't know; I just know that Rachel and Tobias did. Call me a romance freak, I guess. I know that a person said that Tobias was too mushy and love sick toward Rachel, but come on, what's wrong with a little of that? And I also liked the little "thing" between Tobias and Rachel near the end. Tobias has had a muddy and cruddy life, and Rachel is his what, his light or something? Plus, the torture scenes are so emotional and real that I felt his pain. Tobias's pain, I mean. I was so relieved that his brain wasn't too messed up at the end because I don't want to read about Tobias going insane from torture, or anything. It's a good thing that Taylor went nuts instead of Tobias. Anyway, I've shown enough of how mushy and romance-bitten I am. Let me summarize this for you: Read this book!!!!!!

Summary: It was pretty good, but it didn't really fit Tobias.
Review: I know that I'm the first person to give this book less than five stars, but I was actually kind of dissapointed by it. Yes, it was Tobias. Yes, Tobias is my favorite character. The first time I read it through, I was like, "Wow! Cool! This was the best!" But it wasn't. First of all, Tobias was a lot more jovial in this book than he usually is. Yes, I'll be forgiving and say it's character development. Then there's the fact that he's openly mushy with Rachel. And I mean openly. What is it with, ?! And KA, or the ghostwriters or whatever stole a part directly out of the book "The Princess Bride"! There was a part in that book when the torturer says, "I'm writing a book on pain. Now, this is for publicity, so be totally honest. How do you feel?" The torturer-ee moans. The torturer says, "Interesting." In the Illusion, Taylor says something like "Our scientists are always interested in feedback. Honestly. What do you think?" Tobias whimpers. Taylor says, "Interesting." You can check, it's true. In my opinion, there were only two parts of the book that were true Tobias-ese. When he's talking to Ax at the end of morphing him. And at the very end, when he says, "I discovered the answer to what I am can't be answered in a single word in a single minute. It might take me a lifetime to figure our who and what I am." Aside from all that, I did think the "visions" of his pat that Tobias had were very interesting and insightful. So K.A., if you ever read this, I'm just saying you did an okay job on this one. Just okay. I was kind of dissapointed. If it wasn't your fault, then yell at me.

Summary: One of the best Tobias books in existence
Review: K.A. Applegate has done it again. The Illusion is an incredible literary work. I have never been so caught up in an Animorphs book, not like this. Tobias is my favorite character, and if you asked me who my favorite Animorph was, I would answer "Tobias" without the slightest bit of hesitation or doubt in my mind. However, his books, as all of them, follow a distinct pattern: Every Tobias book comes ten books after the last. #3: The Encounter, #13: The Change, #23: The Pretender, #33:The Illusion. Because it takes so long and there are so few, I always look forward to the Tobias books and don't like to be disappointed. I have yet to be disappointed. This book delved deep into Tobias's inner feelings as he fades in and out of pain and pleasure, and the question of what he truly is is once again posed. However, the "answer" he finds is much more pleasing this time. Such vivid descriptions of his pain and emotions were made. There were brief glimpses of his past, his major past before he met the others. This book reached down into the complex structure that is the human mind and forced the reader to seperate life into two "categories" if you will, pleasure and pain. An incredible accomplishment, to say the very least. Loved the ending.

Summary: 1 OF THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: this book is 1 of the best animorphs out there;its emotions r so clear, and even though tobias isn't my favorite character,it was fun reading how he felt, and the way his torturer tortured him was so real and tragic, and this book had a magical touch 2 it,being as good as it is.

Summary: The Best animorphs?
Review: This book is a definite must for any fans of Tobias and Animorphs. It reveals some bits of Tobias' pre-animorphs life, which was very intresting. I liked it because it wasn't a big battle book, it focused more on his feelings and thoughts and was very different from most Animorphs. The basic story is they are trying to make Visser 3 think his Anti-Morphing ray doesn't work so Tobias has to volunteer to be captured. When he is captured he is tortured, which is where the flashbacks part comes in, this part takes up most of the book. A lot of people were really pleased someone morphed Ax, but in my opinion this book didn't actually need that scene, it would have been great anyway. I can't choose between #3 and this one now as the best Animorphs.

Summary: Animorphs: The Illusion
Review: This book is great. It's up there with number 23, 49, 54, and MM 3. This really brings out the relationship between Rachel and Tobias. It begins at a school dance. It then gœs to the Community Center, and then the beach. Tobias is "captured" and is nearly tourched to death by a human-controller who is as much obsessed as rachel about her looks. At the end Tobias and Rachel kiss for the second time. I wish they would do it again. If you like this book read 43. If you like books that have romance between rachel and tobias read 27, 32, this one, 23, 49, and 37.
