Rating: Summary: And so starts 66 reviews.... Review: The Animorphs series is actually just 65 books, but there was one parody made, so i'll include that. Anyway, the Animporh series spans 54 'regular' books, 4 Megamorphs, 1 "meet the cast of animorphs" book, 2 "Alternamorphs" books, 5 'Chronicals" books, and one parody. Each book is told from the perspective of one of six people: Jake, Rachel, Tobias, Marco, Cassie, and Ax. This book focuses on Jake, and is the start of the series. Nearly each book starts the same, "My name is ______. Just ______." Anyway, this book tells about how Jake and the crew (minus Ax, we don't know about him until the 6th book) gained the power to morph from a dying alien. He warned them of an enemy, Yeerks, which are parasitic aliens that crawl in through your ear and controll your brain. The power to morph allows them to become animals. However, they cannot stay in a morph for more than 2 hours or they will be stuck in that morph forever!
Rating: Summary: The YEERKS are here Review: This is a great book to start off this great series. The Invasion starts of the animorphs series and is one of the best. Jake, Rachel, Tobias, Cassie and Marco are normal kids heading for home. Then they decide to take a shortcut through the abandoned construction site. Suddenly, a space ship lands right in front of them. Out comes an injured andalite (which is an cross between a human, scorpion and a deer). He explains that the yeerks, a band of paristic aliens have come to Earth. They have turned some people into "controllers" by going inside their heads and enslaving them. The kids have to stop them. The andalite gives them the power to morph, which is the ability to turn into any animal they touch. Then a yeerk ship comes. Out pops Visser Three, the only yeerk able to control an andalite. He morphs into a horrible creature and EATS Elfangor (that's the andalite's name). The kids escape and think over these horrible events. Most of them are reluctant except for Tobias. But then they all fight together. It all ends in a fight on the yeerks' feeding ground. Find out what happens to Tobias who loses the battle in a way you can't imagine.
Rating: Summary: The First of the Best Book Series on Earth Review: This is the book that got me addicted to Animorphs. Picture this scenario: Five kids-Jake, Cassie, Tobias, Rachel, and Marco-all hook up at the mall. They decide to walk home together, which is perfectly safe. Until they decide to walk through an abandoned construction site. But hte major threat isn't a serial murderer. It comes froma wholly unexpested direction-up. An alein spaceship lands. Prince Elfangor-Sirinal-Shamtul, a wounded Andalite warrior, steps out and warns them. He warns them of the Yeerks. They must fight. And they must fight in bodies not their own. Elfangor gives them the power to morph. To change into any animal they touch. But their little pep talk is interuppted by Vissser Three. Visser Three is the leader of the Yeerk invasion of Earth. And the only Yeerk slug to ever inhabit an Andalite body. Well, to avoid any of the gory details, V. Three made short work of Elfangor. So now the humans-The Animorphs-are off fighting the Yeerks. They need to win. Freedom depends on it. Sound interesting? Then read the books! This particular one had a few mistakes, and was a little shaky, but it was the first one, so we all have to give Ms. Applegate a break. But the books get beter and better as they go.
Rating: Summary: Animorphs: The Invasion Review: When Animorphs was still an active book series, I remember I loved them. K.A. Applegate provided thrilling books on the Yeerk invasion and the quests of Jake, Rachel, Marco, Cassie, Tobias, and Ax to stop them. This is a great introduction to the Sci-Fi genre of books. This is the first book that started it all. The characters are introduced and they cut through the abandoned construction site only to find the dying Andalite prince Elfangor. Elfangor warns the kids of the Yeerks and gives them the morphing power- power to aquire DNA of animals and morph into them. The Animorphs realize that the Yeerks who are parasites that can enter peoples' heads, led by the evil Visser Three have infested thousands of people including Jake's brother. They sneak into the Yeerk Pool to see the horrors of the Yeerk Invasion and Tobias gets stuck as a red-tailed hawk, becasue he abused the 2-hour limit for each morph. This book starts an awesome series. The only problem is that K.A Applegate takes only a month to write each book, so some could be more thought-out, but still it is a great series, and I have little complaints.
