Summary: The First In A Series Of Humorous Novels
Review: First off, Dav Pilkey is a funny guy that writes great books. Probably his most popular novels are the Captain Underpants series. The Adventures of Captain Underpants is the first one in this kid-popular series. Here's the overall scoop:
George and Harold (two 4th graders) have a problem. They have a 'silly streak' a mile long. Sometimes, that 'silly streak' gets them in trouble. Big trouble. I'm not going to ruin the surprise, but I'll tell you that what's ahead has action, thrills and laughs.

Captain Underpants is funny and is a way to waste a half hour. Yeah, you can finish this in 30 minutes, 20 if you're fast. That's my only complaint about this book. It's unbelievably short, even if it is 121 pages. The chapters can't even be considered chapters because they're about 4 pages long. The pages have 1-5 sentences each, so the book isn't long at all.
You won't grow attached to the characters, but you won't hate them either. Another cool aspect of the book is the Flip-O-Rama pages where you get excitement just by flipping a page. I'm pretty sure you'll like this book, but if you're 20 years plus, you may find it disgusting and dumb. Because you don't think kid humor is funny. All in all, The Adventures of Captain Underpants started the series off good and grew into a series that enchants kids.

Summary: Semper Ubi Sub Ubi
Review: George Beard and Harold Hutchins have a little problem; they just can't help being themselves. And being themselves means pulling pranks at school, writing comic books that make fun of authority figures, and changing the lunch menu marquee from entrees to incredibly rude comments.

Captain Underpants is a super-hero they made up in one of their comic books. Through a series of so-ridiculous-no-one-could-believe-it events, their school principal BECOMES Captain Underpants, and it's up to these two class clowns to make sure CU doesn't endanger himself. Incredibly bad puns abound. And inside this book is a copy of the boys' "Treehouse Comics" showing the original Captain Underpants idea. Bonus: there are plenty of gross jokes that grade-school kids love.

This is the sort of book that will get kids to read even if they otherwise hate reading. My 2 kids (1st & 3rd grade) just love this entire series. It's obvious that author Dav Pilkey had a lot of fun writing this book. Highly recommended.

Summary: The Adventures of Captain Underpants
Review: Greetings, my name codename is Pilkey-Fan 4000. I'm here to tell you about my favorite superhero, Captain Underpants! In his first book, we meet the two kids named George and Harold, George is the kid on the cover with the tie and flat-top, Harold is the one with the bad haircut and T-shirt, remember that now. They go to a school called Jerome Hortwiz Elementry School where they make bad grades in school, annoy their teachers, pull pranks, and make comic books and run them on the copy machine so they can sell them on the playgrond for 5 cents a piece. They get ussualy on everyones's nerves, especially Mr. Krupp, the principal of the school. One day George and Harold were pulling pranks at a football game, they put pepper in the cheerleaders pom-poms, put soap in the band insturments, and caused the football team to itch using itch cream instead of deoderant. Mr. Krupp, wanting to catch the two in the act, made a video taping their every move, afterwards black-mailing the boys to do whatever he wised-or the football team would kill them for the game failure embarassment. After a while, George and Harold bought a 3D Hypno-Ring. They used this to hypnotise Mr. Krupp one day and turned him into Capt. Underpants, their latest comic character. But unfortunatly Mr Krupp really thought he was Capt. Underpants and went out into the street to fight crime by removing his outer clothing and toupee, and tieing a red curtain to himself. George and Harold followed him into the town where they almost got arrested by the police. Then a car zooms out o f a store driven by two robots carrying a diamond. The end of the cape catches onto the van and Captain Underpants and the van drive into a warehouse. George and Harold follow the van into the warehouse whre they meet Dr.Diaper, a small crazy little man with a diaper on. He plans to take over the world with the Laser-Matic 2000, a machine that will blowup the moon and destroy every major city in the world! Will Geroge and Harold suceed? (...) Thank you very much. This book and all the others deserve 10 stars, but five was the limit.

Summary: The Adventures of Captain Underpants Book Review
Review: I thought this book was terrific, especially for young children. I laughed the entire way through the book. I think the story line, the terms and the text that were presented in this child's book make children want to read. It presented innocent fun. The idea of the principal doing things at a child's command, a principal running around in his underwear, wedgie power, and all of the tricks kids wish they could get away with doing, interest children. There isn't anything better than for children to get away with adventures like Harold and George pulled. Pulling jokes on adults, especially adults in powerful positions, such as a principal or parent, fascinates children. The idea of pulling a prank on the football team, someone with more power, that has the ability to destroy them, and getting away with it is an outrageous idea and something we all wish we could do to someone. Successfully completing an adventure like Harold and George makes them the most powerful and children all want that sense of being in control. The book gives instances of mischievous situations children would love to try if they could only hypnotize adults with a "Hypno-Ring for $2.99." The price of $2.99 makes it realistic from a child's perspective because most children could afford to order an item at that cost. The flip-o-rama's were original and funny. Children have the ability to add their own silliness to the story. As silly as George and Harold were, the book sent the message that children need to be responsible and watch out for the safety of others while they are engaged in pulling pranks. George and Harold followed Mr. Krupp., making sure no one was injured while they were pulling their pranks. I absolutely love "The Adventures of Captain Underpants."

Summary: A convert to potty humor
Review: Potty humor has never been my thing but after reading a poll of children's authors naming Dav Pilkey today's funniest children's writer I broke down and bought the book. I was laughing so hard I could barely read it to my children. Okay, I'm exaggerating, but that is almost true.

Pilkey actually uses wonderful vocabulary words and intelligent humor along with his doo-doo words and diaper jokes. The mix is fantastic and shows that intelligence does not preclude silliness and the lack of intelligence may cause you to miss out on a lot of fun.

The illustrations are integral to the story beginning on page one. There are pictures (very amusing pictures) on every page which keep my 4-year-old interested and the flip-o-rama action is genius (in a low-tech sort of chapter book way.)

Don't be afraid to check out this book...you may actually enjoy it or even love it like I do.

Summary: Students love this book!
Review: The Adventures of Captain Underpants by author Dav Pilkey is one of the silliest books this teacher has seen. Both girls and boys enjoy this book. The story is about two charactors named George and Harold. The two are best friends and enjoy stirring up trouble around their grade school. George and Harold also enjoy writing a comic they call 'Captian Underpants.' Mr. Krupp is the principal at the boy's school. One day George and Harold pull some pranks that get them into a lot of trouble with Mr. Krupp. Mr. Krupp punishes the boys by making them do extra work and behave. The boys do not like this so they devise a plan to hynotize Mr. Krupp with a hypnosis ring. To make a long story short, the two boys hynotize Mr. Krupp into Captain Underpants and that's where the real adventures in the book begin. Readers will find themselves laughing outloud. Some of the funny things in the book include Dr. Diaper, flip-o-rama, and the pranks that George and Harold play. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has a sense of humor.

They were two kids at Jerome Horwitz Elementary and they like to play pranks at school. One day they were at George¡¯s tree house and made a comic book called Captain underpants. Mr. Krupp made a list of all the things George and Harold cant do. The next day George and Harold were like little angles. They had to wash Mr. Krupp¡¯s car everyday and do what ever he says. George found an old magazine ad for a 3-D Hypo ring. The ring came in 2-6 weeks. They use the ring on Mr. Krupp and made him act like Captain Underpants. He jumped out of the window and tried to stop bad guys but they laughed. Then robots stole a diamond. Captain underpants got stuck to the truck of the robots and they drove back to their base. The robots stopped and Captain underpants crashed trough the door of the abandoned warehouse. The bad guys caught Captain underpants. Dr. diaper used the crystal and put it in the laser-matic 2000 to take over the world. George used the fake poop and launched it under Dr. diaper and he went to change his diaper. George and Harold beat up the two robots. George pulled the self-destruct leaver and the warehouse blew up. George and Harold dressed captain underpants back to Mr. krupp and poured water on him, but they didn¡¯t know if you snap near him he will turn back to you know who.
