Rating: Summary: nice teenager's book Review: One of the first science fiction books I read with a main
female character who didn't rely on male help.
Good for teen women's self-esteem.
Rating: Summary: A good but not great book Review: The back of the book got me really excited but this thrilling sensation soon wore off. The book is about a girl named Katie who has Telekinetic powers. It is hard for her because no one wants to be her friend because she is very different. Even her mother seems threatened by her. It was interesting in the begining but became boring. I reconmend it to a girl 9-11.
Rating: Summary: The Girl with the Silver eyes Review: The Girl with the Silver Eyes is a murder mystery for kids.Iwould recommend this book to 6th & 7th graders to read. I hope you enjoy this book review on The Girl with the Silver Eyes. Katie is nine and half years old;she has silver eyes,Katie is portrayed as a lonely girl. She also has special powers;where she can move things just by thinking about them. When she was 3, her mother And father got divorced.so, Katie went to live with her grandmother in apartment 2-A for the next 6 years. The plot takes shape when Katie's grandmother dies mysteriosly. Mr. Cooper is the police officier involved with the investigation. He does not believe Katie's story ,as her grandmother was in the habit of spoiling Katie. So this story unfolds with all its twists and turns. A real whodunit.
Rating: Summary: A MUST for all who have ever been deemed different Review: The Girl with the silver eyes is a wonderful novel for girls or boys who are worried about being different. The message of the book rings loud and clear...people are mean to those they don't understand and they are afraid of what they don't understand. The heroine,Katie, is different. She has silver eyes and special powers. While not frightened by her own "abnormalities", it seems that certain neighbors are very put out with her abilities to "move things". Katie, of course, enjoys her specialness, but wishes for someone to understand her unusual ways. She finds not one, but three other people affected in the same manner but realizes, that the "normal" world can enjoy her talents as soon as they stop being afraid of them, and see them as "gifts". The reader is reinforced with a concept that "different" is only confusing and scarey when you don't understand the value of it.
Rating: Summary: It's Amazing! Review: The girl with the silver eyes is about a girl named Katie, who has supernatural powers because her mom took a dangerous drug when she was pregnant. This leads her into more trouble than imaginable. This book is so well written, that I read it in one day. It's incredibly capturing.
Rating: Summary: An excelent book. Review: The Girl With the Silver Eyes is an excelent book. Katie had hope that she would find a friend like her and she found 3.
Rating: Summary: A Great Book Review: The Girl with the Silver Eyes is one of the best books I have ever read. It explores the adventures of a girl named Katie, who has paranormal powers. People don't like Katie because of her silver eyes and because she's always around when something odd happens. Katie feels so alone, she decides to try to find others like herself. She discovers three children born to friends of her mothers who share her extroidinary abilities. However, some people are after Katie because of her powers. Can she escape? Find out! This was an excellant novel, apart from one flaw. The ending left me wondering about what happened to Katie next. There should be a sequel!
Rating: Summary: A fascinating book... Review: The idea of a person born with strange telekintic powers is one that has been revisited many times. This book is most likely the most inventive variation. A fun book to read, and it also seems to have a touch of the movie "The Bad Seed" (though note that the character is only suspected of being one).
Rating: Summary: one of the 3 books I remember from my childhood Review: There are only a few books that I really enjoyed as a kid. So you know what I liked here they are: The Richard Peck series of books about a girl who saw ghosts, The Secret Garden, and finally this book. As a child, I wanted to be a superhero and I wanted to be part of a group, as well as be able to communicate with that group. While the main character isn't exactly a superhero, she is able to hide the magic of being alive and empowered under a veneer of wonderful psuedo-science. I loved it and I still have it.
Rating: Summary: The amzing Outcast Review: This book is a good book that shows what its like to be an outsider. It shows how it feels when people judge you by te way you look, which nany peole can relate to. It may not be filled with thrills, but you never want to put the book down.
