Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: "Pied Piper" leads readers to disappointment Review: Since Piper is my favorite Halliwell sister, I was excited about the arrival of Pied Piper. Charmed fans, however, will not find much to please them here. None of the characters is given anything interesting to do. Piper spends the book whining about staying home and caring for the children that follow her. Darryl exists only to return the kids to their homes. Paige does nothing but go to the symphony and talk about the flutist as if he were a junior high school crush. Phoebe's only function is to be present at the scene of two murders. The plot is entirely predictable, and the one detail that could be called a twist is not a surprise if you notice that the author has reused a name.
If just reading about the Charmed ones is enough to make you happy, buy this book- but don't expect it to do justice to the characters.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Loved it!! Review: I loved this book! I couldn't put it down! One of my favorite classic stories is the Pied Piper, Allen O'Dale. So this really appealed to me. I love the way the author has the sister's personalities pegged perfectly, right down to the way Paige wrinkles her nose. Perfect descriptions! I liked it so much and it was such a chilling, engrossing ending that I've insisted my husband has to read it too! Wonderful book! I wish I could give it 10 Stars!!!! :) :)
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: One of the Worst, You Might Want to Skip It Review: Piper and Leo start talking about children when suddenly Piper becomes the target of children from all over the city. They just follow her home or show up on her doorstep. Meanwhile Paige starts to fall for a flutist and the symphony. To round things out Phoebe is present at several deaths.
One of the tricks to good fantasy is to make sure that the mundane elements are correct (don't give horses five legs or have bees pollinate corn). This book really gets it all wrong. One almost gets the idea that the author has never left her house.
Dozens of kids start disappearing and yet the police are not concerned. In fact Darryl has to stop finding the children so things won't become too suspicious.
In this story, the symphony has no conductor, a flutist gets to ad-lib in the performance, the perform the same program over and over for weeks, the lights get turned down (and not up) at the start of the performance as I guess these musicians can read in the dark.
Phoebe is present for two murders and there is no investigation. Not even a cover-up by Darryl.
Finally, typical of many of these books, even though there are very strange things going on, the Charmed Ones don't think of checking into what is going on until almost page 120 (in a 170-page book).
This is really quite possible the worst of the Charmed novels and should probably be skipped. Don't say I didn't warn you.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: a yawn for sure Review: PIPER AND LEO START TALKING ABOUT HAVING KIDS. SOON AFTER ALL THESE KIDS START TURNING UP GETTING LITERALLY ATTACHED TO PIPER. SHE FINDS WHERE THEY LIVE AND RETURN THEM BUT THEY KEEP COMING BACK AND MORE KEEP COMING
PAIGE ON THE OTHER HAND FALLS IN LOVE WITH A FLUTISH FROM THE SYPHONY AND JUST CAN'T STOP GOING BACK TO THE SYMPHONY EVERY DAY.
DOES THESE 2 HAVE ANY CONNECTION? LIKE THE PREVIOUS REVIEWER SAID THE TITLE GIVES A LOT AWAY BUT THE BOOK IS OK. NOTHING YOU WOULD DIE TO READ AGAIN.
