This book is quite indicative of the manner in which our world works - the constant, circular motion of life, the disappointments we face as we go through it - and it's actually quite perceptive for the author being so young - he's only eighteen!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Not a Bad Read, for a Debut Novel Review: Upon hearing that Daniel Martinez was a novelist in my hometown of Tucson, Arizona (though I've moved since then), I was curious to know what his writing style was like - and let me say that, for one thing, it is beautiful. And the wording is lyrical - almost poetic, at times. What I found most interesting was that this was not a book with a traditional winner/loser, good-guy/bad-guy thing going on; rather, it's these three men who want to save the world, and as they go along trying to save it, they're just faced with obstacle after obstacle, and have to redefine their friendships and reasons for fighting along the way. A very potent form of writing, this novella is a not a bad read, for a debut novel - I would like to see what else Daniel Martinez has in store for us.
