Rating: Summary: Put the hobbits down and back away slowly Review: As a reader, I find it very nice to come across fantasy that isn't all about the end of the world, earth-shattering quests, and ancient evils come back from the dawn of time to take care of unfinished business. And that's what you get from these stories, small tales of fantasy that are just as engaging as those painted on a much broader canvas. Yes, you get bogies and Fair Folk and other creatures out of legend, but you also get deft interpersonal touches in the relationships between Conor, his wife Eithne, and their adopted son, and that's what breathes life into these stories. There's more here to enjoy than magic.
Rating: Summary: Terrific Collection of Stories Review: I found I just couldn't put these stories down. They're so entertaining, they're like potato chips -- you won't be satisfied finishing one. This is a great collection to read if you want a taste of Laura Underwood's writing. But I'll warn you, once you finish them, you'll be looking for her next book.
Rating: Summary: Heroic Adventure Review: Laura Underwood's set of short stories deal with a hero, his healer wife and their adopted son as they travel thru a land rich with magic. The characters are both real and larger-than-life filled with good humor and wit. The adventures are exciting, and they never follow the predictable path.Look for the hero's wife, Eithne, in each story - she is the quiet one, but I think she's the pivot around which these stories turn. I found these stories quite enjoyable.

A perfect book for those subway rides to work or for a satisfying short story before bedtime! FIVE STARS!
Rating: Summary: Charming Magick Review: These stories of Keltora are wonderfully written -- it's evident that Ms. Underwood is a lover of language -- and so charming the only regret comes at the end of the book when you have to say goodbye to Conor and his family.
