Summary: An avid reader
Review: Other than saying that this is a great book that I would recommend highly, I would like to make two comments: I appreciate that the author didn't go overboard with the "love" scenes -- and that are no four-letter words. This should be proof that a good romantic novel needn't be obscene.

Summary: The Beach House Shines!
Review: The Beach House is the second Georgia Bockoven novel I have read and I found this novel to be as excellent as the first one I read (Far Away From Home). This novel centers around real life issues and real life characters, all of whom are embracing losses of one kind or another. Bockoven's writing draws the reader into experiencing each and every heartache of all of the characters, and you can't help but be drawn into the heart of the matter. Her character depth will indeed have you crying. Her characters are easily embraced because they are so real and their life-situations are not set in some fantasy world. All of the women characters were strong and independent and not weak and malleable.

This is another wonderful book illustrating love's power and healing force. I especially found the scene on the couple that was married for over 60 years quite tender and touching. Bockoven once again proves that despite the pain and tragedy in one's life, love can work its magic and heal.

This is one book that you will want to read more than once and this book comes with my highest recommendation!

Summary: a marvelous and very special book
Review: This is a very, very special book. Just unforgettable. I see all these comparisons to other authors and I just want to say that I think Georgia Bockoven is a stand-alone talent, truly one-of-a-kind, and those comparisons don't do her justice. I've heard that a sequel to The Beach House is in the works and I CAN'T WAIT!

Summary: Best book I've ever read.
Review: This was by far one of the best books I have ever read. Everyone I have loaned it to has agreed. You are so involved with all the characters you don't want the book to end. Better have a whole box of tissues ready!

Summary: This is my all-time favorite book.
Review: This was the first book I read by Georgia Bockoven, and it quickly became my favorite. It was also the first book that ever made me need to reach for a box of tissues. You become so involved in the story like you are really there and you develop a relationship with the characters, experiencing the emotions they are experiencing. I couldn't put it down and can't wait to read it again!

Summary: The book was great reading.
Review: This was the first book I read by Georgia Bockoven. I thought the story of the couple that had been married such a long time was so special. Can't wait to read another one of her books.

Summary: Lovely Beach Reading
Review: What a nice book. It is not profound, and it doesn't pretend to be, but neither is it full of typical summer-at-the-beach cliches. It captures the lives of several different people, of all ages and backgrounds, who happen to congregate at a beach resort in neighboring houses during one summer in California. With skill and understanding, the author drops us into lives already full of history...and lets us share a small slice of time. It is to her credit that we get so involved with each of the characters that we feel we know them well...from a 17-year-old in the agonies of first love, to a devoted elderly couple facing the spectre of inevitable separation. Even the couple's cat is lovingly described. It has feelings! (As a cat lover, I couldn't help relating.) I recommend this charming book to anyone who wants a cozy read without the need to analyze every word. Just sit back, put your feet up, and enjoy.
