Review: Dexter's book is unlike any I have previously read, and I've read them all, Tolkien, Robert Jordan, LeGuin, Simmons, etc.
Knight's of Chaos is refreshingly original. Complex in scope but not inaccessible. Herron's Mortalroam and it's pantheon of gods are haunting, amusing, riveting. Dexter employs his military experience, SCA involvement, wild sense of humor and knowledge of the genre to produce a book well-worth a read.

Review: I can't believe this is Herron's first book. The writing is crisp, thought provoking and unpredictable! Seriously, where did this guy come from? SciFi/Fantasy has finally found it's new voice for the millenium. Just tell me when the next book is coming out.

Having known the author since high school, and more than half of our lives, in fact, I have already read portions of this book over the years as it was being written and rewritten. Dexter's writing style is engaging, with a wry humor.

Summary: My favorite book in the last year
Review: This was a really solid read. I liked the way Herron blended humor with action. He has a fresh take on life and a very amusing wit. His writing reminded me of Roger Zelazny in his prime. I highly recommend Knight of Chaos!
