Summary: A Daydream of Dictatorship
Review: I was given my copy of "The General's President" several years ago and have read it several times. Today is Jan. 14, 2000 and I have nearly completed reading it again. Our government has devolved into one of National Socialism. Some argue that it has become Fascist. John Dalmas describes what has happened and what I agree must be done to restore our Democratic Republic if freedom and liberty are to survive. If I were President with Emergency Powers I might very well use this treatise as my guiding light. To me this work is in a class with "Atlas Shrugged".

Summary: An excellent review of our political system.

Summary: What a Great book!
Review: I've re-read 'The General's President' many times since I bought it several years ago. It's exciting, thought provoking and
describes a highly capable and gifted engineer/statesman taking on the role of U.S. President in a time of great turmoil.
The closest real Presidents we've had to Arne Haugen would be F.D.R. and Ronald Reagan.Inspirational and a born leader.
I'd vote for Arne Haugen in a minute!

Summary: A Benefit for Teachers
Review: It's a shame that this book is out of print. It is a valuable resource for teachers looking for an alternative reading. Whether you agree with the author's solutions or not, this entertaining book will get students thinking about the political process, the financial system, legislation, education, and the importance of accepting responsability.

Summary: A Daydream of Dictatorship
Review: This book is the author's fantasy of what he'd do if he were made dictator of the USA. Of course, whatever he wants is obviously right and whoever disagrees with him is obviously stupid or ill-intentioned. The author's approving attitude toward General Jarulzelski, military dicatory of Poland, gives a clue toward his attitudes. I give the book two stars instead of one because of the entertainment value of reading one man's elaborate book-length power fantasy.
