Rating: Summary: Great Britain, Summer 1944 and Beyond Review: A Small squadron of British and American aircraft depart at dawn on a long-range strike into Germany, but as they cross the English Channel, the squadron vanishes. Drawn thousands of light-years across the galaxy by Kamalon's "Sensitive Mothers," ten men and eight aircraft are greeted by a roaring crowd in a field before the provincial capitol, on the continent of Azra; a land in desperate need of champions. Captain Ross Murdock and the 51 Squadron are cast into a whirlwind adventure of intrigue, treachery, and romance as they are "culled" back and forth across the universe, outwitting and outrunning the Germans, while they attempt to foil the invasion of Azra by the neighboring continent of Krete. 'The Hawks of Kamalon' is a heart-warming adventure in the classic tradition of Robert Heinlein, but it also examines the parameters of faith and friendship, the qualities that define civilization, and the width and depth of spirit. "If you are a lover of the drama of the old West, the camaraderie of World War II, and honor and chivalry of Arthur and the Round Table and the challenge of the unknown of 'Deep Space 9', you will not be able to put this book down!" -- Lower Keys Barometer, Vol. 4, February 4, 1999 Prologue and First chapter can be read at the Publisher's website.

Rating: Summary: Can't put down kind of book Review: I just finished reading "The Hawks of Kamalon" and I couldn't believe it was over, I wanted it to go on and on. This book was filled with adventure, romance and a lot of excitement. From the very beginning I found myself up in the planes with them flying in a deminsion where everything is different from anything else I have ever known. Through this whole book I felt that I was there with them. It is a very good book that can carry you away with it to wherever it goes and leaves you wanting more. GET THIS BOOK and you will lose a few nights sleep, not wanting to put it down. Thanks again for the adventure.

Rating: Summary: I call "The Hawks of Kamalon" my WWII metaphysical western. Review: If you enjoyed my first novel, "The New Madrid Run" (a cataclysmic adventure in a changed world), you're going to love "Hawks." It has the same momentum, but it's a more sophisticated read, with a broader plot and greater character definition. Did you enjoy the first Star Wars? Or The Magnificent Seven? Or The Saving of Lieutenant Ryan? If your answer is yes, you can't help but be captured by "Hawks" because it's very much a composite of these types of themes. If you haven't laughed and cried by the time you're done, you're made of tungsten. Pick it up. Read on. Enjoy. All the best, Michael
Rating: Summary: Excellent - Recommend for any science fiction/WWII fan Review: Just finished reading "The Hawks of Kamalon". It is as good if not better than "The New Madrid Run". Each character has its own story and each is interwoven with the others. The further you get into the book, the harder it is to put down.
Rating: Summary: Reisig deserves more recognition and a national audience! Review: Let me start this review by simply saying that Michael Reisig is one of the best new storytellers that I have read in recent years! Having read his extremely impressive apocalyptic novel, "The New Madrid Run", a few years ago, I was pleased to finally find a copy of "The Hawks of Kamalon". What Reisig has created in this book is a novel of epic proportions. He has created memorable characters entwined in a gripping and thrill-a-minute plot. Take a novel that thrusts WWII pilots from the British and US Air Force into a cosmic world located light years away, throw in battle scenes taken straight out of the Battle of Britain and The Alamo and you've got "Hawks...". The novel really takes off when the pilots are drawn through a time portal to serve as the last-ditch heroes for a nation under seige by an evil dictator. Using their WWII Spitfires and P-51's to fill the skies with bombs and bullets to protect their new friends, they soon find themselves drawn closer to these people than they expected to be. In a book filled with multiple heroes, Reisig does a fine job keeping all of the characters straight in the reader's mind while making an unbelieveable sci-fi premise, almost believeable. "Hawks..." is a classic tale of good vs. evil and much of the action is straight out of a Clint Eastwood or John Wayne movie. The battle scenes are very graphic and create vivid word pictures. And while the "escape from the throes of death" scenes that the heroes keep surviving are more than a little far-fetched, (reminded me a lot of the Matthew Reilly books, so his fans will love "Hawks...") this is a book filled with action, romance, and energy. Unlike many reviewers who rave about not being able to put down certain novels, I rarely have experienced that sensation. It's for that reason that I was so impressed with "Hawks...". It really is "un-put-down-able"! Here's hoping that Michael Reisig continues to write great stories like "Hawks..." and "The New Madrid Run" and begins to get the recognition on a national basis that he deserves for being a great storyteller! HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!

Rating: Summary: Reisig- Story Teller par excellance Review: Reading Michael Reisig books is similar to listening to the oral story tellers of old. You quickly forget you are reading and fall into the spell of the story being told to you. It's a grand thing to find a writer like Reisig who's narrative leads you deeper and deeper into his story and it's characters. "Hawks" is a masterful book. My copy was dog-eared from my two readings, and is now back on my shelf after three friends insisted on reading it. Long live the Hawks of Kamalon!
