Review: In anticipation of Batman's rebirth on the big screen, courtesy of one of my favorite directors, Christopher Nolan, I have been looking back at how the first 4 films were made. While 1992's Baeman Returns didn'e quite reach the heights of the first film, The Official Movie Book, does gives readers a detaiied look at how the film was put together.

Authored by Michael Singer, it's an easy read, at just 80 pages. Given that though, I was surprised at just how many tid-bits, made the book. Singer is very adept at breaking down the biggest sequences in the movie. Batman Returns has more elaborate fights--lke the one between Catwoman and the Batman on a rooftop--I enjoyed learning how Michelle Pfeiffer got in shape and learned how to use a whip. Director Tim Burton penned a foreward for the book, explaining why he came back to Gotham, for a second time.
