Rating: Summary: Typical Must-Read for Pournelle-Related Book Review: This book does a good job integrating different facets of the War World series, looking at how Saurons are coping being on the moon of Haven, their quest to dominate the planet and the human norms or ``cattle'' as they call them, and the human norms efforts to fight off the Sauron yoke and doing so with some success once they've gained some of the Sauron capabilities of superior strength, superior speed, vision, hearing, and healing granted by the genetic makeup of the Sauron soldiers. The human norms on Haven have also survived the crucible of the tidally-locked moon, which has its own denizens that have proved to be deadly to early settlers and residents such as land gators, hangman's bush and fireweed. Keep reading these and the other books in this series...they're well worth the time.
