Rating: Summary: Awesome series Review: This was the first book I read in the series so it was kinda awkward while I was reading it. However it all came together for me when I read the other 4 books (which I read in a week; the first book in one night!!) I would recommend this series to anyone who has the remotest interest in eschatology (study of the end times) as it is very close to what the Bible says. Granted it may not be correct totally in what will happen but there's only one person who knows the future, and we all know who He is. I still have yet to read the sixth book but I am definitely looking forward to it. That's my two cents
Rating: Summary: It's a slower read, but worth the effort Review: Of the entire series, Apollyon has proven the longest read. While Carpathia's public addresses seem too wordy, the story is well-written and interesting.
Rating: Summary: how about a zero star rating, guys? Review: This LaHaye guy is basically the modern-day equivalent of the old tent-revival preachers, except that he is pocketing millions instead of pocket change. His books do achieve one worthy thing, though: they actually make organized religion seem dumber than it already is. This one panders shamelessly to the pre-millenial panic crowd, and I'm sure a lot of them will stock up on copies of LaHaye's books along with the Spam and portable generators. Verdict: just another end-time huckster trying to make a few million bucks before the big nothing at the end of the century. A side note: since when did fundamentalists become so interested in computers, anyway?
Rating: Summary: Sslowest in the series... Review: I am a tremendous fan of the Left Behind series. With each new book however, I am finding myself skipping over more and more. I found that Apollyon had a lack of suspense that so far drove me to cling to every word. It was right around the middle of Nicolae that I started feeling the need for more story. It has incresed a lot in this book. I am still, and always will be, facinated by LaHaye/Jenkins interpretation of the book of Revalations, and their accuracy to the Bible is wonderful, but this is supposed to be fiction and that is where this book was lacking. I have now begun Assasins. So far I am skipping over the recaps,(which can be a bit too much recapping, even if you haven't read any others in the series), but the story has kicked off nicely from the first page--I hope it continues. Overall, this is a great series and I recommend it to anyone who considers themselves to be Christian--you may find out you're not.
Rating: Summary: EXCELLENT!!! Review: What a great book! It left me with a smile on my face and tears in my eyes. I especially like the way Mr. LaHaye and Mr. Jenkins follow Revelation with incredible accuracy. Keep writing, I can't wait to read the next one!
Rating: Summary: good to know some one cares Review: Personally I have enjoyed every minute of everybook in this series. It saddens me that even self named christians can be so cruel and critisizing. God is real and yes he is merciful but go ahead and read revelation and you'll see that their books have portrayed Gods indefinite wrath. It will happen people and please don't be so closed minded because you want a happy ending to everything. People will suffer thats a fact, but the reward for those who follow Christ is greater and that is what should be focused on. These books regardless of wether or not you are a pre mid or post tribber display the word of God in an astounding sense. Please be more kind to the hard work of lahaye and jenkins their books have a scary but wonderful message of revelation I can't wait for the next book and i recomend this book to all with an open heart and mind.
Rating: Summary: IT'S EXCELLENT! Review: I loved the book. I think that it was a bit slower than the last three but it was still good. I don't understand why they spend so much time with Raymond's wish of killing Carpathia. I don't think that's a good thing. I loved this book because it showed me more good interpretations of what is going to happen. I always like it when there are new characters introduced and there are a few in this book. We do need a strong female character (with Raymond's or Buck's character).
Rating: Summary: Excellent, Excellent!! Review: From my perspective the series is EXCELLENT! I suggest to anyone who intends to read or are in the process of reading to "STOP" where you are and read the "BOOK of REVELATION" in the Holy Bible. The arthors have done a superb job in taken the Book of Revelation and applying it to what will likely happen in today's society. I like so many others have put it off but, not anymore. I did not get the impression that it was to frieghten anyone but, more to enlighten you and tell the GOOD NEWS of GOD!! Well, done. Read with an open mind and heart. Listen with your heart and not with your mind. None be so blind as those who will not SEE!! Peace of LOVE in Jesus!!
Rating: Summary: Where's the beef? Review: This is Judgment Day lite. All this "Left Behind" stuff Left me bored. End of the World literature should be brash and scary and powerfully challenging, and this is none of that. The very finest Judgement Day novel I've ever read is by far a book called THE LAST DAY by Glen Kleier (sp?). After that heart-stopper, all these other attempts seem so luke-warm. There is so much more depth to mine from this theme, and the Left Behind books barely scratch the surface.
Rating: Summary: A fun read but written a little too light weight Review: The series have been very fun to read. I have enjoyed the characters and the ongoing development of the storyline. The writing is, however, targeted for readers who have a lighter experience base in literature. Reading this after a Clancy novel is sure much easier, but not as rewarding. Keep em coming, but reduce the font size and put more story in the book.
