Rating: Summary: .....another journey, with an unexpected twist Review: Hello! I read this book when it came out in 1999. I've read some of the other reviews and while I share some of the same opinions regarding character development, I have different feelings regarding the book. I'm not one who follows the SF&F genre, generally preferring period romances, or true historical novels. That being said, I am an admirer of Mary Brown and will read anything she writes........even if it is directions to boil water! When I received this book, I eagerly dove into it. It started out okay, the female lead character was nicely developed. However, every other character was flat. I wondered whether they were really travelling along with the female lead at times! To see an example of how well Ms.Brown can develop on characters, refer to The Unlikely Ones, Strange Deliverence, or Playing the Jack. As usual, Ms.Brown was extremely good with the plot, and descriptions of the adventures. This kept me going, until the end.....and what I consider the best part, the epilogue! It was written with such excitement and enthusiasm that I finished with my heart pounding! The book is worth the journey to the epilogue, readers! And that epilogue is written in true Ms. Brown style - a blast of fresh air!
Rating: Summary: More of the same, but a decent wrap-up Review: I began with "Pigs Don't Fly" and found it good, then "Master of Many Treasures" and found it great. I backtracked with "The Unlikely Ones" and found it somewhat different but also a good read. Unfortunately, "Dragonne's Eg" does not seem to achieve the level of the others. The personalities of Danny and the lawyer aren't well developed like the characters in the other books, and half the book was just getting the quest started. I think it was more than adequate in giving the finality of what happens to the 'Eg', but the reintroduction of Ky-lin was disappointing (he is starting to get on my nerves). But the stage is set for the next great book, and I am looking forward to it. Too bad the time of the novels is rapidly approaching the present...

Rating: Summary: Dragonne's Eg Review: I found this book to be quite enjoyable. I picked this book up out in the bush of Alaska where I was working at the time and needed something to keep my mind occupied. I found this book quite enjoyable. I aggree with the other reviewers that the beginning was quite well thought out but the ending a bit rushed. I wanted to know what happened to the human twin and also curious as to whom she looks like. I hope that there will be a next book to see what happens to her. I am hoping that Toby will be involved, I became rather attatched to the young man and hope that he will be able to overcome his poverty and become an "xplorer" Dragonnes Eg was my first introduction to the series and I look forward to reading the others.
Rating: Summary: A Sweet Story Review: I found this story of a poverty-stricken school-teacher and her quest to fulfill the terms of a inheritance to be charming and effective, and fun to read, but it does have some flaws. The pacing is uneven, and although I enjoyed the lengthy beginning, it speeds up considerably after that; I would have liked the journey more detailed in places, and not all the characters are well-developed. Still, it's an effortless read, rather like a gothic romance, and if you like the lighter fantasies, give it a try.

Rating: Summary: Magical Review: Ms. Brown has written another wonderful story involving the magical unicorn ring, and a quest for dragons. Even though it isn't very long, it has the feel of an epic. It will make you smile, and warm your heart. A wonderful summer weekend read.
Rating: Summary: was excited about getting it..disappionted when i read it Review: since master of many treasures left me unsure of what had REALLY happened to the heroine i was hoping some of that would be reveiled. i agree with the others that the characters werent well developed (i really only read this book to see what happened to the egg.) i was happy when Ky-Lin was reintroduced cause it was a familiar character like summer and growch were. and cried at the very end because of what happened to the dog :( (im lame arent i) but anyways the book was okay enough just didnt like that she didnt have a direct link to the egg she just happened to be someone who was related to the person that bought it off an auction and was marveling at it.. i wanted someone more caring of the egg or more related to it..book really disappointed me...maybe there will be a next one with ky-lin and the twin hatchling hopefully
Rating: Summary: I'm hooked! Review: This is a really great book. After months of searching, you can imagine I was VERY happy to find it in a local bookstore. I've read a few other books by Mary Brown (with another recently bought, just waiting to be read!) and I'm ashamed to admit that until I read The Draggone's Eg, I hadn't realized the connection between it, Pigs Can't Fly, and The Unlikely Ones. (But I won't say what that is, you'll just have to find out for yourself!)
