Summary: AWESOME AND VERY ORIGINAL
Review: I loved this book. The idea of a MageLord was very original. The only thing I didn't like about the book was that Bjorn didn't have enough Power. They should've given him MORE Power. Get it "MORE Power"...Home Improvement.

Summary: Great book... Sad that it's out of print
Review: I really loved this book. I picked it up, and after I read the first chapter, I pretty well read the thing cover to cover in a couple of days. I was surprised at how well done this book was, after how skeptical I was when I picked it up. If you like warefare books, magic, and general fantays, this book is great. It's too bad this book is going out of print. It's a gem.

Summary: One of the best books I've ever read!!
Review: I've read a lot of books, and Magelord: The Awakening is one of the best, if not the best books I've ever read. I recommend this book to everybody! In case anybody's nervous that the other books in the trilogy will be a let down, don't be, it only gets better!!

Summary: Filler
Review: If page after yawn-inducing page of descriptions of fighting (a sort of videogame in text) thrill you, run out and buy this book. You will be entranced. If you don't find modern phrases suitable to a Pentagon press briefing jarring and out of place in a fantasy novel, the prose will sing to your soul. If characters with all the depth of 20# Laser paper satisfy you, this is *your* book.

Summary: Is it the best? Maybe.....
Review: Is this book the best fantasy I've ever read? Damn right. So far no compair to this books massive appeal or heroic characters. I've seen many books but never have a seen a book where a person takes magic and turns it into something so interesting that your curious about it. Not only does the action take its toll but the characters themselves, who you feel you could relate because of their fears and desires to be not only great but heroic. Is this a book I would recommend to someone? Yes, very much so. If there is anything better I would sure be interested in knowing what.

Summary: Great, fast-paced, interesting story
Review: MageLord: The Awakening is the story of a young mage and a prince who must face and conquer what they believe to be a ruthlessly evil MageLord - one of the vastly powerful and greatly feared mages who once ruled the planet. It sounds like a generic fantasy, but there are enough surprising (but logical) developments in the plot to keep you wondering what's really going on, and what's really going to happen. The end managed to leave me happy and satisfied with the conclusion, but at the same time eager to see what happens in the second and third books.

Tom Martin's writing has improved noticeably with every book since the first in his original trilogy, and MageLord: The Awakening continues that trend. The story is fast-paced and a little spare in a few places - but it's also very cohesive and devoid of the multi-chapter wanderings and extensive ramblings which afflict some books. The protagonists are human and likable. The plot is well thought out and believable, as is the culture Tom has constructed for his characters. This is a great start to a promising new trilogy.

Summary: Thomas K. Martin wrote a masterpiece!
Review: Magelord: The Awakening was a great book. I would recommend it to anyone. I was very satisfied with the ending, because it completed the story, but left room for the rest of the books. I can't wait to read the next books.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Truely, a book that should be inculded in the classics list.
Review: Never having read a book from Mr. Martin, but being otherwise well read, I was not prepared for how well written and how well thought out the entire book was. The characters and plot we detailed and rich and imparted stunning mental images. MageLord: The Awakening has to be one of the best books I've read in quite sometime. I was immediately spellbound with his world and vision and finished it immediately. A definate Must read.
