Summary: Sister Got It Going On
Review: A nice s/f love story between a African American, and Asian women and two alien men that is similar to human men, I would have liked to have seen a bit more interaction between these couples and there love interest, but all in all it was a guick read that was nice.

Summary: UNEDITED Brain Food Part II
Review: Black, forty year old tells an unedited dream??? story about a relationship that develops between herself and a white???, male (30 something) human-looking alien and also the development of a relationship between her best friend (forty-year old Japanese-American female) and a 20-30 something year old, white??? male alien. Story starts off slowly in first couple of pages to develop characters then rolls along with three narrators (primarily the male and female leads telling the story) so that you get a well rounded story of what everyone is thinking and know details that others in the story don't know. The book is brain food because you have to stay with the story--do not skip pages because you lose track of who's talking!! The fact that author (former teacher) has a sense of humor comes out in first book (The Bonus)and also with the printing of this unedited book--bottom line is teachers never quit teaching, even to readers. Also enjoyed The Bonus, 1st book--teacher's real-life fiction??? story in contemporary format. Follows the same details (interracial relationship, friendships, family, education) as this book.

Summary: Good But Masterpiece Coming
Review: Creative Story - Unedited (some quirky stuff and long sentences) but shortened version from author (in own words)about relationships that develops between two Florida minority women-- friends--and human looking aliens (follows interracial theme from The Bonus). Good book to read if you want to see author's original thoughts/words and good book after author's first unedited book The Bonus (loved The Bonus more!!). Edited long version with both books in one coming out. And told the main characters do more than "handshake" in the revised one. "The Bonus and Sister Planet Tara: The Complete American Stories-Edited" by same author s'pose to be out by end of September 2002 with reason behind this unedited unpublicized edition first and both interracial stories in one book.

Summary: A Simple Romantic with a passion for Sci-Fi
Review: Ever wish for the days when a Sci-Fi book could pull you into it's story and keep you entertained until the very last page? "Sister Planet Tara" accomplishes that feat and I give the book four stars on the recommendation scale, especially if you are a romantic looking for something different and entertaining in the way of Sci-Fi! "Sister Planet Tara" is actually an indirect continuation of my first book "The Bonus" (paperback version should be out end of July 2000). Those who have read "The Bonus" (a contemporary novel) know the connection between the two stories. Both stories deal with friendships that have lasted over many years and relationships that develop that are far from the ordinary. The romance builds over time and the love is sealed. I hope you enjoy both books... Enjoy! ....Diane

Summary: No frills
Review: Good back to the basics sci-fi with a basic and just simple story. None of the gory stuff that sci-fi seems to be picking up from horror. Likable characters. Not a romance person but thought relationship in story was handled okay. Good story (a little wordy in description sometimes)--two of the main characters are women in their forties. Aliens they encounter are human looking but with unnatural powers. Good sci-fi to read.

Summary: REFRESHINGLY Different!!
Review: Good UNEDITED story but nothing major to take away from story itself. Very risky move on author's part but plays well in the writing of something different all the way around. Loved the storyline of two women in their forties (african-american and japanese-american) finding love with alien inhabitants on a sister planet to earth.

Summary: EXCELLENT SCI FI Reading
Review: Great to find a book about regular adult American minority women--heroines--that are not sized 4s or 8s or some other absurd size. Good story with education, careers, family, friendships and love relationships found on planet with male human looking aliens. And with the right amount of sex thrown in to make it a good and entertaining SCI FI short story set in Florida. Like the author's writing style. Very simple and straight to point. Feels as though she's talking directly to you or actually telling you the story. Downloaded author's first book, The Bonus, computerized version, a longer contemporary book with same writing style. Also with same focus on education, careers, families, relationships. Postive book with none of the stuff that makes the news everyday and then winds up in books as entertainment. Still waitnig for the updated paperback version that I think should be out sometime in July. Another good one from author about real people and believable relationships!

Summary: Get me off this Planet
Review: I am honestly shocked this book got four stars. It was bad. Ok here goes. These two friends are taken to Plaent tara. They aren't even shocked. Wow we've been teleported from earth. Oh well. They are told they can't go home. They still don't care. And must marry some men they don't know from adam. The men are like cook our food farm with give up your know way of life. Oh yeah have our kids. Hun? I'm sorry but no. I didn't find it sexy. But I guess I one of the rare females who find enslavement by aliens unsexy. I like earth. And would at least like to be give a chance if I'm going to live here or not. It was like this book was writen in one day. It was really boring and long winded. The interaction between everyone was weak.Ever thing fell into place way too easy. This book is so bad don't waste you money.
