Summary: A real page-turner.
Review: "Timegate" is science fiction at its best The basic plot, travelling into the past to change history, must be very carefully planned, or the author can find himself in a "catch 22" situation, one that defies basic logic. If such a situation exists in "Timegate" I failed to find it. One need only assume that time travel is possible and Walter Hesse provides a very convincing arguement that it does exist.

The story itself has all that a page-turner requires, danger, suspense, intrigue, romance, and of course a somewhat unexpected ending. These characteristics are woven into a sequence of of events to maintain an irresistible urge to continue reading. The characters are believable individuals of ordinary types who find themselves trying to understand, but coping with, a seemingly impossible situation. And of course, we all have a very personal interest in the story ending.

With the special effects possible today in the movie industry, this book is the perfect beginning for a box office hit!

Summary: Riveting Story!!
Review: Brilliant book. Very hard to put down once you've started! I'm not at all surprised at it's insite on time travel because the author taught Astronomy and wrote several books about it as a university professor. I worked with him for many years at the university and know his expertise. His astronomy class was one of the "bread and butter" classes of the department, pulling in large enrollments. This story is based on historic fact which makes it even more plausible. Would like to read more books like this one.

This story would make an EXCELLENT movie.

Summary: A good 3.5 stars read!
Review: The story began in the year 2044. The Nazis had won World War II and the German Occupation Authority (GOA) had rules the United States for a hundred years.

Scott Hanover hated the GOA for destroying his family. He ended up in a New Mexico prison, awaiting execution. However, a secret group helped him to escape and sent Hanover back in time to the year 1944. His mission was to thwart the Nazis' plans and change the course of history.

Major Willie Kant was a Federal Police Officer who had always hated Hanover. When Hanover escaped prison, Kant began hunting him. Kant ended up following Hanover through time.

*** The story reminded me a bit of some sci-fi movies I have watched. Two beings sent back in time, one good and one evil. I found one or two things a little hard to believe. An example is that if a prisoner had a chip that could be used to blow up the prisoner if he ever escaped, then it would be used! I could not believe that a trained officer would just decide not to use it and chase the prisoner instead. However, I found the story to be very entertaining and worth your time to read. ENJOY! ***

Summary: This novel makes you stop and wonder "what if?"...
Review: Timegate takes an interesting look back at "history" from the perspective of Scott Hanover, a political prisoner of the German Occupation Authority in 2044. While reading this novel, I found myself frequently pondering what the world would be like today had the Axis powers been triumphant with their conquest.

I found Timegate to be a very enjoying read, building up from a slightly slow beginning to the point that I was up until 2:30am one morning because I could not put the book down. (Cool ending!!!) As far as I know, this is the first novel by W.L. Hesse, but I look forward to the novels will hopefully follow!
