Summary: hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Review: this book is beyond floppy. Hawke's point of view is somewhat limited.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Not much of a book
Review: This book's pretty boring, I'm sorry to say. It's not written all that well, with sloppy dialogue and ineffective action/suspense scenes. The ending is nothing more than an sf deus ex machina, a cop out. Go watch your favorite TNG episode instead.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: AWSOME BOOK!

Summary: ONE OF THE BEST
Review: This is a must read for any Trekkie and even for those who like sci-fi. Action and intrigue fill this book and the mystery surrounding Hermeticus II. Anything involving the Romulans must be good.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A GRRREAT Book for Trekies!!
Review: This is an excelent book about a Romulan attempted capture of a Federation ship to learn the secret about the undercover Federation world of Hermaticus 2. A world few Federation officials even knew about. After a perfectly planned hijacking, Picard must play with the ego of the cocky Romulan comander aboard the Syrinx. Cut of from their captain the crew must formulate away to escape from the cluches of the Romulan Prototype before reaching the forbidden quarintined world of Hermaticus 2. Simon Hawk's great book should be read by everyone bent on reading many of the books in The Next Generation Series!

Summary: Excellent, excellent story.
Review: This is one of the best-written Star Trek stories I've read, and I've read a lot. It is tightly plotted, with excellent characterizations both of the established characters and those unique to the story, superb pacing, and none of the sloppy proofreading so common to mass-market paperbacks in general and science fiction in particular. As near as I can tell, this is the first Star Trek story written by this author; I hope he's written (and/or will write) many more.
