Review: Firebird is a wonderful sci-fi novel! I enjoyed every minute of this book. All the characters are great; good people and bad. I really enjoyed reading about the changes Firebird goes through. The love story is fantastic. I couldn't put this book down. I can't wait to read the sequel. This book also has a very interesting viewpoint on Christianity. It was very moving. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes science fiction and romance.

Review: Firebird is a wonderfully unique science fiction novel in a new genre: Christian science fiction. Firebird is such excellent science fiction, it can be enjoyed even by those who are not religious, however. Firebird draws us into the lives and trials of Firebird and Brennen Caldwell, the main characters in Kathy Tyers' fictitious universe. Built around a wonderful "what if," the conclusion leaves you anxiously wanting to read the next volume in the series. You are in luck -- Firebird's sequel, Fusion Fire, was recently published! I highly recommend both books to those who love good science fiction and to Christians who would like to read excellent books in this new genre. Enjoy!

Summary: Excellent Book
Review: Firebird is an incredibly good book. I have re-read it numerous times. I have also read the sequel, Fusion Fire, which is just as good. The protagonist is female, and very sympathetic. There was always a feeling that there should have been a third book in the series, as the reader was left somewhat hanging with unresolved issues, such as the missing sisters. According to Locus magazine, Firebird is being reissued, with major revisions. Hopefully these revisions won't ruin what is a very good read. Fusion Fire is also being reissued, with revisions, and a third book, Crystal Fire, is being issued.

Summary: worth having both
Review: Having recently re-read the original Firebird, I have to say that this revised version is superior to that excellent original, and not just because of the change in cover (which for some strange reason Amazon doesn't display). The action has been enhanced, character motivations are clearer, and a lot of extraneous details have been removed. Despite the similarities between the two versions, the storyline is obviously going in a different direction from the original. Even though I already have Fusion Fire (the sequel to the original Firebird), I'm looking forward to the 2 sequels from Bethany House.

Review: I found the original version of Firebird in a used bookstore over a decade ago. I have to confess, I initially bought it because I liked the cover! But then something strange happened when I tried to read it -- I couldn't put the book down. I was so caught up in the tale of Firebird and Brennen that I read it from cover to cover in almost 1 sitting. I was not disappointed with the new version. All of the characters that I liked so much were intact, and given extra dimensions to their personalities. I plan to read Fusion Fire (the sequel) as soon as possible.

Review: I have never read a better book in my life! From the first page to the ending paragraph,I was totaly thrilled. The action starts building right from the begining, and DOESN'T STOP untill Firebird and Brennon's final fight for freedom. And the whole time everthing seemed bielevible.After I finished reading it the first time I felt like I had just completed their mission with them.I like it because (1)It's loaded with action,(2)It is realistic and (3)Gives a great exsample of a young woman in search of God. I totaly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great science fiction.

The adventure kept me on the edge of my seat, the love story moved me, and the love of God that shines through this book humbled me! I am now currently in the middle of Fusion Fire, and like its prequel, I can not put it down!
