Rating: Summary: Breaking the Silence Review: For ten years I stopped submitting my work for publication, because it was getting in the way of my writing. I kept getting distracted by the "book", the product, and not the process of writing. When I stopped doing that, I fell in love with writing again. Now I have two new books, which hopefully will make it into print by the end of the year. A novel, "Bardo", and a nonfiction book, co-authored with my partner, Paul Borja, titled "It's Never About What It's About: What We Learned About Living While We Were Waiting To Die."
I want to thank the thousands of faithful readers who not only appreciated "The President's Son" and asked for more, but who took the book through three printings, including one this year, during which it sold as well as it did the year it was first published. Thank you. I think you will like the new ones even more.
Rating: Summary: Love! Sex! Political backstabbing! Intrigue! More sex! Review: Great characters who are at their finest in plotting the next career move, no matter whose dead body they have to step on to get there. Lots of political machinations to hold your intellect, as well as characters that tug at your emotions. A great read!
Rating: Summary: A well crafted story, but so very tragic. Review: I could hardly put this book down. There were so many layers of deceit that I wanted to see some kind of justice at the end. Instead, I felt as though I was let down
Rating: Summary: Easy, quick read - great suspense with tragic ending Review: I just finished this book tonight. Last night, I had about 30 pages to go, and went to sleep thinking of the possible happy romantic endings I would find tonight. Mr. Kraus kept the suspense high through the last page, but while justice will be served, love's lost. The ending was not what I had entirely hoped for. A few details don't make sense to me, like how DJ could've found valium to drug his captor but can't find the car keys, and would the President's wife really have done THAT at THE convention? An epilog about Parker and Elaine would've put more closure on things. A little contrived towards the end, but still, you won't want to put it down. Sign me up for Mr. Kraus' next book!
Rating: Summary: Excellent Read Review: I realize some of the reviews weren't very flattering, and I must confess I bought the book only because I thought the guy on the cover was gorgeous. But, if you are the type of person who found the movie "The American President" (Michael Douglas) or the TV series, "West Wing" to be even marginally interesting, then you will definitely like this book. It definitely is a bit more intense than the above mentioned dramas, but it's definitely worth the read. I, typically, like Gordon Merrick and Felice Picano and some of the newer vampire novel writers, but I started reading this book last night at work and only took a break to drive home after work and then finished reading. It kept me totally captivated. I'd love to see this turned into a movie.
Rating: Summary: Really not worth it. Review: The premise of this story sounds interesting. And at first, it is somewhat interesting. Unfortunately, the only two characters I wanted to read more about were True, the guy who liked hairy men, and Parker, the hot, beefy blond guy assigned to guard the President's son. All the other characters were flat archetypes. The story isn't ludicrous or anything like that, but the ending is SO unfulfilling. Granted, not all stories have a happy ending, but without a character to root for, a story just won't work. Sorry, Mr. Kraus, but this really could have been written better.
Rating: Summary: Unfulfilled... Review: The story needed more on the relationships between the characters, but unfortunately was full of boring political stuff that the reader didn't care all that much about. Towards the end of the book, I couldn't put it down; but, sadly, the end ultimately leaves the reader disappointed. Not a bad read, but there are better.
